Santorini,26th June
So, today, Santorini, i was only off at 3 so i told my mom to go with the Swiss people and enjoy Oia and the wine farm, she was excited to go cause she also thought that the Swiss tour guide was actually a nice guy...so she went off at 2pm....like i said i was off at 3, so i signed up for the crew tour...that started at 3pm, so i asked the supervisor to leave 15min early...that was possible, yay....the crew tour was going to the volcano and then the hot springs....hmmm....i had no idea what to expect but i was excited.....so at 3 off we went.....we were in this wooden boat...was so cool...almost felt like a pirate boat.....i spent my time with Banu and the captain...wot a fun crew tour....so we arrived at the volcano island where we had a 30min walk upwards ahead of us...our tour guide was some Greek. I think he spent too much time in the sun cause he was cooked, his stories were from a different world, i dont think i was listening after 5min and the whole way up he was singing...quite entertaining.....man it was so hot walking up....but believe it or not i managed without getting out of breath...quite an achievement....here are some pics from walking up and finally reaching the top......oh before you see pics....i thought it was quite funny when the tour description says wear walking shoes, bring sun tan lotion, water and a towel and then there are some girls that came in high heels....man what the......anyways more interesting....pics.....
After the hike up, our amazing tour guide talked again, no idea what he said...then it was time to go down and go to the hot springs....i was excited for that but i was not quite sure what to expect....reaching the bottom of the volcano again we had to board the boat again to sail to the hot springs.....so here are some pics from posing on the boat....
We anchored, or so i think, near the hot springs....so the hot springs were in the sea, first we jumped into the normal sea water and sawm towards the shore, and then when we were nearing the shore the water suddenly got warm...i guess we had reached the hot springs...the water was really wierd, not clear at all, very red, apparently this means it was full of iron and sulphur...i couldnt even see my arms and body underneath the water.....but i expected a litte bit more from hot springs...but i didnt really care cause i had a really fun day/ afternoon out....got back at 1730, then had to rush a little, shower, eat and work started a 19:00,now you might think that is enough time, but somehow i got distracted and dawdled a little...anyway, managed to make it in time....oh almost frgt, when getting back on the boat from the springs i dried myself with a towel...well at the end the towel was no longer white but red...how strange...didnt expect that at all.....here are some more pics...(handy to have an underwater camera). Sorry..my writing is not so good...have a really good excuse...i have night shift at the moment and it is now 5am have slept 10hrs in total over the last 3 days.....how will i cope for 8 days.....

I worked until 11pm saw my mom in between cause she came to the front desk and when there were not a lot of people we managed to have a quick catch up session, she enjoyed her tour and said next time when i have time, i must def go to Oia, apparently it was amazing. The wine farm she said she could have given a skip but Oia was really really nice....so now im hopeing that next time i have time to actually get to Oia. See Oia is 30min away from Fira, and from the ship to Fira (have to take a tender boat and then the cable car) it is also 20min)...so unless you have 4.5hrs off...i Think it is too much of a rush...so hold thumbs that next time we are in Santorini, i actually have a nice schedule.....so tomorrow ill write about Mykonos, Katakolon and my moms good bye.....then im almost done catching up....then i think im allowed to give myself a big pat on the back, haha.....and i promise i wont get so much behind again....not so much fun.....
