Santorini

So this weeks itinerary is slightly different.....cause we started out of Venice on Friday and we are only going back on Saturday....so an extra sea day at the end.......first day will be Corfu, then Santorini, then Mykonos and then Izmir......my schedule.....not great cause im mid shi, which means late morning and mid evening.....anyways....i deal with what i get and make the best of it......so first to Corfu....had the boat drill, followed by our weekly meeting, and then some work....was pretty dead....everyone going shore side, so it was the perfect time to do my side duty....not gonna go into much details but basically next to our work we all have a side duty and mine is luggage tags.....like i said not gonna go into details cause not very interesting.....

I was off at 1pm....you might think great...time to get out....but crew has to be back on the ship by 14:30..... S a little rushed cause by the time you have left the port it is 15min, that is one way.....so hmmmm.....i actually had a much better time on board then running out.......so i guess no need to run out into the heat and back......but enough on this chit chat....lets talk about Santorini......

I was off at 3pm.....finally another full day in Santorini, and this without me having to beg someone to swop schedule with me......we left the ship at 3:10..... Not bad.....(but just before that i got some really really good news....A great surprise......ill share later)......took the tender boat, like always we tender in Santorini, and then it was decision time how to get to Oia....hmmmmm.....alternatives, walk up (it was like 32 degrees), find bus stop and take bus 30min to Oia, or take cable car, at least 30min wAit, then the bus...or take the more expensive option....speedboat to Oia.....well number 3 won....we took the speedboat to Oia. Oia, like Fira is a town set on a hill.....so we took the bus that took us up to Oia town, also organised, or should i say semi-organised through speedboat people.....now why do i say semi-organised.....when we arrived we had our ticket but the guy didnt tell us where to go...so we waited in this que only to realise it was the wrong que...then we got directed to another spot...that was 100m up a bloody steep hill...not the best in this heat.....but enough about this....we got to Oia and i guess that is all that matters....wait...actually one more thing.....the mini-van.....didnt have aircon....people wre dying......were of course i exaggerate....but u know what i mean......so back to Oia.....Some pics....

What a cute little place....we wondered around......looking at shops...having some ice cream, strawberry cheese cake....i bought my little souvenir.....a mug....as always.....(im so glad i could off loaf a couple when my parents were here, otherwise i think the weight would have killed me)......after that we started to look for a place to eat and chill......(as a side note, Santorini is a holiday place, dont go there for shopping, its more about beach and eating and enjoying, i guess)..... After a little back and forward we decided on this place that has a really nice view over the sea (we could even see the ship in the far background).....and it was nice and quiet.....food....hmmm....choices.......of course, the Greek salad and then some dip with breads and some baked feta cheese.....all was very good.....we just chilled, enjoying the food, view and chatting.....i was so relaxed, hardly time pressure (just knowing last tender is at 20:30 , but no work), i almost felt like i was on holiday.....def a very good feeling.....here are some pics...
I think only around19:15 we realised what time it was....oh shit...we still had to get back to Fira with the bus, about 30min and then still make our way down with cable car or walking to the tender......found a bus back, and yes it took us 30min, so just to keep track of time, it is now 20:00.....decision was to walk down, we didnt even bother with the cable car.....we guessed the que would be too long......so we stopped for some more ice cream.....green won the day (fig and pistacchio) and then we sped HIKED down.....i started feeling my calves....hmmmmm....wonder how they will feel tomorrow......the sun started going down and that was a very nice view......but like i said....SA has very similar ones😉. Here are some more pics.....
