My venture

So...as i mentioned....this time Santorini i was unable to go out....shift from 12 until 18:30.....oh well had a very good Santorini last time...so ill think ill survive....plus im hoping the next week will be good again.....so because i was finished early....a speciality restaurant for dinner sounded like a very good plan.....hmmmmm....but which one.....i def wanted to try Moderno cause that is the only one (well and Teppanjaki), that i have not tried.....Moderno is the Brazilian.....so there is a huge anti-pasta and salad bar, after that you get a ticket which is green on one side and red on the other.....then they start bringing different meats and when you are full you just turn it from green to red.....and of course some sides come....beans.....mash....fried bananas and rice.....now the meat....clever....they start with the cheapest and move up......I went for dinner with Banu and the captain.....so the first choice we had was two types of sausages....chorizo and spicy something.

Man....time seems to be flying and i seem to run out of hrs....well work hrs are long but free time is short...I guess that is always the case though....once again im a little behind....but anyways.....ill try catch up a little bit this week.....well at least im gonna attempt....lets see if ill manage.....  So we have Alessio on board, he is part of my team and he comes from Rome. His parents are joining us this cruise and as a surprise he asked his mom to bring some buffalo mozzarella and home made pasta and pesto on board that we would eat....yummy......buffalo mozzarella and real pesto....who would not like that.....so at 8pm.....it was time....i was off duty so it was good, the people that had to work got turns to come and eat for 20min....so glad that i was off......the captain also got invited because Alessio wanted to thank him for putting his parents on the VIP list......the Food & Beverage manager cooked the food and then brought it up to the staff mess......large plate of

So....after Santorini there was of course Mykonos, for those of you who havent realised that my travels go in order.....shame......anyway.....so Mykonos no chance to get out, start at 10 and until 15:00.....hmmmmmm....def no wAy......oh well, Santorini was great so be it and i knew i would be able to get out in Izmir for a little bit.......so lets skip Mykonos cause the only thing that i can tell you is that the front desk was dead dead dead and i prob served like 5 people....   So now to the more interesting part, not fascinating....but interesting.....in izmir i had to go out by myself...not very enjoyable....but you knw me...ill grab any small chance to go out even if just for a little bit....and this was my last Izmir......so i def wanted to buy some nuts and have a cappuccino.....and yes....sadly also some internet to skype with my mom.......so off i went.....izmir is so convenient, cause u r in town in 5min.....so first thing first.....went to buy some cosmetic items...then nuts,

So this weeks itinerary is slightly different.....cause we started out of Venice on Friday and we are only going back on Saturday....so an extra sea day at the end.......first day will be Corfu, then Santorini, then Mykonos and then Izmir......my schedule.....not great cause im mid shi, which means late morning and mid evening.....anyways....i deal with what i get and make the best of it......so first to Corfu....had the boat drill, followed by our weekly meeting, and then some work....was pretty dead....everyone going shore side, so it was the perfect time to do my side duty....not gonna go into much details but basically next to our work we all have a side duty and mine is luggage tags.....like i said not gonna go into details cause not very interesting..... I was off at 1pm....you might think great...time to get out....but crew has to be back on the ship by 14:30..... S a little rushed cause by the time you have left the port it is 15min, that is one way.....so hmmmm.....i actually

So...once again....back to Venice....as i said im not going to discuss Piraeus, Katakolon or sea day as they were quite unhappening......other than our new manager being a pain in the bAckside....but im not here to complain...so ill shut up.......oh...but i did have some good food....among it, the seaweed salad again and the hot and sour soup.....here is a pic.... Now....to some more interesting news....hmmmmm....or story telling is prob a better word.....i have two friends looking at visitig me in SA.....that is such good news....im so happy....both hav not booked it concretly......but i have faith.....man that word does not really belong or fit me....so maybe i should rather say...i trudt them....haha.....anyway.....so my Friday morning started well....that was actually the point i was getting at.....kim and i left to go into Venice around 8:30.... Yes, quite early....but my shift started at 11:30.... So what can you do.....so we walked into venice and decided coffee....well macchia

So....today is my last Dubrovnik....why....cause from now on...we are just going to do the Greek island run....which is of course Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos and Katakolon.....so....yes....tonight would be my last nightshift...hence i had the whole day off.....perfecto......why.....cause the old HD, Hotel Director, who left for vacation around the 16th June and lives in Dubrovnik, invited a couple of us to go have lunch in his friends restaurant.....so after nightshift which ended at 7:30.....i slept for a little bit....cause we would only dock around 13:30 and the old HD would fetch us around 14:00.....at least some time to sleep...but trust me.....Nightshift is getting to me....when i woke up....i was smashed....im so glad that tonight would be the last one....anyways...... So the restaurant was a typical Croatian spot...well the food was....and we did not order from the menu but it was organised by HD, so that it was local. So.....now that im nightshift i actually have the whole Venice off......my shift was quite hectic....i worked from 11:30pm straight through to 9am.....after that i was finished....but of course i cannot go to sleep straight....so did some emails, skype etc and ended up sleeping at 10, but at 12:30 i decided i dont wanna waste my day so i actually got up, i must admit.....i was tired.....and made my way into Venice......went to Coop, a local supermarket and bought some mozzarella, proscuitto and chocolates.....  After my little shop, it was time to munch something, was very happy when i got an SMS from my friend, Kim, stating that he could join me....yay....so he said he knew a less touristy area so off we went to a totally different section of Venice which i had not seen before, always nice....the little spot was so cute....little red and white checkered table cloths...check it out....   Man....the menu...different story....there were like 40 pizzas to choose from, when we saw the size

So...sea day....not much to say....and yes, one would guess that sea day would be the day that i would catch up sleeping...dont ask me what the hell i did...enjoy the sun, go to gym...somehow just forgot to sleep....i have actually calculated, i have noT slept more than 4 hrs each night....im quite amazed what a body can go through, the fact that i am still standing and coping...wow.....anyways....no, im not showing off.....just stating the facts, haha....So sea day....as we all Know the food in the mess is bad....so dinner was Cagneys steakhouse.....didnt have fillet though.....had salmon.....man it is grilled to perfection.....medium....which is exactly the way it must be....and then a cheese platter for dessert....yummy....there was even some gruyere on it.....def not as good as the Swiss one....but good....  So now to Split.....Banu and i decided to take the crew tour to Krka national park....i mean why the hell not....so we both finished work at 8am...the plan for both of us was t

So....Piraeus morning.....survived my second nightshift BUT now came the little horror.....i have to attend the boat drill which is at 10, so the debate was sleep or no sleep....well lets say the plan was NOT to sleep, but i did pass out for about 30min.....i was so glad the drill was speedy, im always glad when it is speedy but this time i was extra happy.....have i actually told you that my safety position has changed.....hmmmm....not sure, lets quickly recap.....so in the beginning i didnt have a position that is because i didnt have the basic safety training (fire fighting and first aid), then my position changed to the reception back office where i became a messenger...and then suddely a week later it changed again, strange, i was swopped to go onto the bridge, which for those of u who dont know is the area from which the ship gets steered, hence the officers and the captain are up there......so back to the point now....the drill was rather quick...then i slept a little in the sun
