Izmir and Venice
So....after Santorini there was of course Mykonos, for those of you who havent realised that my travels go in order.....shame......anyway.....so Mykonos no chance to get out, start at 10 and until 15:00.....hmmmmmm....def no wAy......oh well, Santorini was great so be it and i knew i would be able to get out in Izmir for a little bit.......so lets skip Mykonos cause the only thing that i can tell you is that the front desk was dead dead dead and i prob served like 5 people....
So now to the more interesting part, not fascinating....but interesting.....in izmir i had to go out by myself...not very enjoyable....but you knw me...ill grab any small chance to go out even if just for a little bit....and this was my last Izmir......so i def wanted to buy some nuts and have a cappuccino.....and yes....sadly also some internet to skype with my mom.......so off i went.....izmir is so convenient, cause u r in town in 5min.....so first thing first.....went to buy some cosmetic items...then nuts, like always, mixed salted, coarse salted peanuts and dried fruit mixed with almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts.....then i was on my way to find some cappuccino but somehow got distracted by these shorts which cost €3.....i loved them and bought them.....then off to a coffee place...cappuccino was very good.....not like the foam in last Venice (which u might remember is like the one back at home), and the waiter was interesting.....cause he somehow first brought me a choc, which yes, im sure he gives to everyone, but then he kept grinning at me and then he brought me this small bowl of local chocs....very yummy.....the square ones on the side had some jelly and pistacios in it...strange....my best was the dark wobbly ones......here are some pics......
On the way back, i stopped at the local supermarket and bought 2 different Turkish cheeses, and yes i of course tried them before i bought them, i think it was like half a kilo....should last me a while.....how to get past security...hmmmmm, but i have noticed, they dont really check for solids...more just liquids...they did not see the cheese and i was very glad.....i mean i dont wanna throw away stuff i bought.....
The next day was a sea day...not much happened.....did some gym....yes, my 30min uphill walking on the treadmill....and then just worked....long day....always i guess...day before people disembark.....i ended late that evening....and tomorrow....Venice im gonna start at 6am.....HELP....but see the positive right.....ill be done at 10:30 and im off until 2..... So some time to go out....and yes....i love Venice....so no complaints....well one.....i had to go out alone....people tended to have to work etc......damn.....was not really in the mood for alone time outside....but i guess i had to....well i could have stayed on the ship....but i def wanted to buy mozzarella, yes, more cheese, some proscuitto and have some of the marzipan/almond cake.....so off i went.......looked like it was gonna rain and clever me forgot the umbrella.....so lets hope its not gonna rain....well i can put you out of your misery (i guess you were not in misery, just wishful thinking on my behalf).......it didnt rain..i made it back just in time....SO what did i do.......i went to Coop....bought mozzarella, choccolates, proscuitto and salami and then walked towards the great bakery......had a sit down.....drank an amazing macchiato and then took the cake as take aways.....Now time to go back to the ship.....and please please please dont check my bag.....man i half started to sweat....but somehow luck was on my side......security was so busy with new crew signing on that old crew were not even scanned......man, phew😓! I was so glad.......back on the ship....put it all in the refrigerator and enjoyed the almond and marzipan cake......it is just so good.....2 was work again until 8 and then finally my 10.5 loooooong hrs werre Finito....yay....time to relax....i think i deserve it.....we decided to watch a movie tonite.......Sound of Music.....i actually saw the musical in South Africa on stage, but have never seen the movie....we made it 2/3 through before deciding, we Are starting early.....so better keep the rest for the next day.......goodnite......speak soon........
