My venture

So...before i start again about my cooking...2 updates on some coffee places Around the block....first of all....always a good cappuccino with guaranteed Lindt chocolate......Vide e....man the coffee is strong and the foam thick (i always order the small cappuccino, actually any place i go i ALwAYS order small...THAT way the coffee is stronger...otherwise too milky....), so where can you find Vide e.....airport (not very convenient....but just in case you fly domestic which ill do soon......so guess where i will go.....), Hydepark by the movies, Sandton by the foodcourt and the one i was at.....SAndton by the BAron....that way my friend and i could sit outside in the sun for 2hrs catching up....was so good to see her....and catch up.....really catch up.....always nice...... Second place im gonna tell u about is at the new Nicol shopping centre, it is downstairs....so yes....not the best spot.....coffee shop is called Melt....cappuccino, in my opinion, is very pricey....coffee very stro

So...by now u must have figured out...i love to eat good food, different food....and yes i love to cook...especially for people that appreciate it....i guess that is the best satisfaction...when you cook and then People say...man this is amazing...but of course they must mean it...and yes....if i ask how it is...I can take criticism....anyway....let me get to the point....Sunday, Claudia and i decided to cook up a Greek Fiesta...i have been wanting to do it for some time, got an amazing cookbook from my gran....and now i was inspired after being to the Greek islands....and who better to do it with than someone that loves to cook as much as i do...and yes....that means Claudia.... So....i know last time i was going to write about these special drinks that i had....somehow there was not enough space anymore...and i guess it deserves its own blog....own mention.....so Liezel, a friend, said to me that the Westcliff hotel does these special drinks....and her and i both being into these food type thingys.....she thought it would be a good idea to introduce me to this....so why not go on a Friday late Afternoon for some drinks and the sunset...man what a good idea.....so we met around 5..... And there Are 4 molecular type drinks...2 shots and 2 Martinis.....we decided to try 3.... But first here is a pic of the view and a pic of Liezel and me.....Wot a cool pool....or so i was told by a friend who i sent the pics to before writing this blog....just to make him a little jealous....And yes...it is a cool pool.... So we ordered the 3 drinks...but unfortunately the waiter forgot the VERY important fact...the drinks would take 30min to prepare....hmmm....if we would have

So.......lets chat about the restaurants i have been to lately....and a place where i had some drinks....But really different ones...hence it is worth mentioning...... So a couple of days Ago, i met a friend at this new shopping centre called Nicole Way.... It has many restaurants, large food stores and some French stores, which we all know i LOVE......man....nice mugs, photo-frames and all little things to have in the house....i could spend hrs on end in there.....that is so my style....actually ill take some pics once and write a blog.....but only if i run out of other stuff....haha.....anyway....so yes, those 2 French shops love...there is also a chocolate coffee shop which i wanna try and the Food Lovers market......man amazing....the meats, cheeses, fruits, breads....seafood....wow... And the sushi platters (which we had for dinner the other night), amazing.....here is a pic.....(sorry was not gonna write about it....but mAn it was good...so i guess it deserves to be mentioned)...

So....been back...what like 10 days.....been playing some golf....good to get out....relax and feel like im doing some kind of exercise.....been a while since i last played....oh well....wot i like about golf....u can play with someone that is much better than u and u can still win against them....and u can play golf forever.....so many sports after a certain age u have to give up...not golf......and yes....u can still have fun at golf cause u hit the ball and then there is a small rest while u walk to ur next ball...u cAn talk, gossip etc etc....... So played golf....unfortunately the course has been very dry....yes, its winter in south africa but it still looks kind of terrible..the good part is, the ball rolls quite a bit....here are some pics....   So....i was quite amazed...first round was actually quite acceptable....good for me..and guess that is what will make me go back...wonder if second round would also be like that....hmmmmm......well let me spare u with the anticipation

So.....yes....people that know me...know what i love...And a def passion.....cooking...which sometimes is very hard cause on the ship i have no opportunity...well sometimes i managed to throw something together.....proscuitto, crackers, mozzarella and fresh olive oil....not cooking...but the best substitute...and after all in the end...cooking is great when you have people that enjoy it....so making the mozzarella and proscuitto for friends....was loved...So then it def made up for me not cooking......now back at home i get to catch up a little on cooking....so what have i made....here are some things.....and yes...while cooking listening to music and having wine...def......   Yes, its winter here in SA....and no its not winter like Europe...but when u have lived here in SA for so long....then this is def considered winter....so what better wAy to "celebrate" winter....cheese fondue....and yes....i make it from scratch...not buying the ready made mixture....gruyere cheese, wh

Morning started off with hairdresser appointment.....i have found a brillianT hairdresser, def not on the cheap side, but def worth it.....so last time he did amazing highlights for me....lets see what was in store this morning. When i got there he decided today he was going to do a treatment and a full colour....he said before i go overseas again he will do highlights, but during the time im on vacation, he wants to do something different......so i trust him.....i didnt even ask what colour he would do....but im happy with the results...pic to follow....why i say pic to follow cause the pic is with coffee....so i first have to tell u about that..... Hairdresser is near Parkhurst...so where better to go for coffee than a stroll on 4th...and somEwhere on the pavement find a nice coffee place and sit and enjoy some cappuccino......a def yes please......my mom and i strolled through the street looking for a nice place and of course looking at the antique stores until we started to smell

So...Back home...cappuccino time....where to first....so many places which i have to re-try.....dont let me down South Africa......well...What a nice day...so definitely no sitting inside a mall......i needed to buy a kettle urgently....the decision was thus easy....Design Quater.....there are lots of home stores where i can have a choice for a kettle and Woolies....def on the list for cappuccino.....aim....get kettle....then relax and enjoy....cappuccino lived up to its reputation....but price...little steep for SA prices....but yummy nevertheless....he is a pic..... So....of course.....there is need for more coffee.....But before more coffee...need some enjoy time at home..and no...im not going to tell you every little bit of what i do all day....i think that might just kill you slowly.....but thought i would add this pic...amazing winter weather......listening to songs that bring a hell of a lot of memories from the ship....good times....i think my grin says it all...... So.....arriving at the airport...finally home in SA.....passport control, easy, luggage had to wait long...customs...no problem..then as i came out my parents were waiting, my dad snapping pics on his iphone...Man....i was embaressed...but managed to JUST survive.....he just made me laugh.......i think i killed my parents ears from the time i saw them until we went to bed that night.....i even had a sore throwt..i think i might have talked tOo much......when we entered home i already had messages on facebook, one friend even called to see how i was.....mAn i met some truely amazing people, would never take these 4months back for anything......and then, when i entered the house..another amazing welcome....My little monsters, im referring to the 4 Scotties, they welcomed me home....animals are truely amazing....the best part was when i went to sleep that night, my two, Mac and Mooch....i didnt even have to call them...they just followed me....while the other two, Molly and Mops followed
