Dubrovnik

So....today is my last Dubrovnik....why....cause from now on...we are just going to do the Greek island run....which is of course Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos and Katakolon.....so....yes....tonight would be my last nightshift...hence i had the whole day off.....perfecto......why.....cause the old HD, Hotel Director, who left for vacation around the 16th June and lives in Dubrovnik, invited a couple of us to go have lunch in his friends restaurant.....so after nightshift which ended at 7:30.....i slept for a little bit....cause we would only dock around 13:30 and the old HD would fetch us around 14:00.....at least some time to sleep...but trust me.....Nightshift is getting to me....when i woke up....i was smashed....im so glad that tonight would be the last one....anyways......

So the restaurant was a typical Croatian spot...well the food was....and we did not order from the menu but it was organised by HD, so that it was local. Among other people that got invited were also The new HD, well replacement while on holiday, as well as the captain, the lunch was really nice....not just the food but company was good too.....so what did we have.....to start with we had a mixed cold platter, with cheeses and different meats......so up my alley.....amazing....especially the smoked ham.....here is a pic.....yes, i managed to take one.....


After that was mains....there were two large stew type dishes, one was lamb based, when i heard i was like....please let there be something else.....the other one was veal based.....phew......and in there were potatoes.....with it also came cheese bread/pizza and Greek salad.....so goood....dessert was two different types of cheese cake...choc and normal....i tried both.....and the winner.....hmmmmmm...difficult...im gonna go for normal one and the only reason is because i didnt feel like something too sweet and the choc was a little bit too heavy.....and yes...the meal was complimented with some good Croatian white wine and then an espresso to end it with.......here is a pic of the main meal......

So after lunch was beach time....good idea...hmmmm....after eating so much....oh well....was so hot...so yes, i guess it was.....we went to a beach which i had not been to before called Coco Cobana.....i actually prefered it to the last beach in Dubrovnik......we tanned...swam, yes, in the crystal clear water.....it was such a nice day....loved it.....we all went back at different times, i stayed until 7 cause my nightshift was only starting at 11pm.....last night shift.....here are some pics from the beach......
Last nightshift, almost killed me...the time passed sooooo slowly, it was terrible.....but at least it once again was one hour forward, yay.......so anyways.....That wAs Dubrovnik...for the last time....but def a very good last time.....now the next few days i will not blog about cause sea day not much happened.....Piraeus and Katakolon i was unable to get out....my schedule is so terrible...and in Katakolon when i could actually get out.....i have the boat drill...so yes....no go....i guess that just means gym......maybe ill decide one day will have something interesting and then ill combine it with another day, but i dont think they deserve their own blog......oh yes.....we did have sushi one day....as alwys totally satisfying....should i should a pic.....yes....why the hell not.....here it it and here is also a pic of the sunset in Sunrise on my last nightshift......cheers for now......

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
