Now this restaurant deserves an individual blog...dedicated just to the foodies there....a friend of mine had gone to this restaurant and highly recommended it, so i actually made a Sunday lunch booking on the terrace.... The wine estate is beautiful and glamours, really nice tree avenue....just a wow factor when you entered. Once parked we passed the tasting place, then the deli restaurant before entering the Werf restaurant. Mutti posing in the gardens Werf restaurant entrance I must say...i am so glad we were on the terrace on such a beautiful day...over looking the vegetable garden, what a stunning setting, inaide in the enclosed glass patio would have been my second choice...totally inside...last option, hahaha. MCC and Champagne Festival

Image
So....one last trip before moving...immigrating....to.....well....i guess some of you might not know....we are immigrating to Italy.....actually very soon.....December, but before that, let me share our last weekend...in this blog....the MCC and Champagne Festival, it was long over-due that we visited the Method Cap Classique and Champagne Festival in Franschoek, held every year at the beginning of December on a Saturday and Sunday (normally first weekend in December). We have been in South Africa for 18.5 years and somehow we never managed to go to this festival...well...in all fairness for 6.5 of those years i was actually not allowed to drink....hahaha.....moving on now...let's get to the point...the bubbly festival.... So we arrived in Franschhoek on Friday.....and we decided to go an enjoy the bubbly festival on the Saturday, good thing that we booked the tickets ahead of time cause it was sold out.....the festival opens at 12pm and lasts until 5pm. So we arrived promptly at

Bucket List

Image
So...i have thought long and hard about this one...and this definitely was not written in one day....in fact this is probably not the last time i am updating this....in fact...i think this blog will be continually edited....but one needs to start one day...what is a bucket list...i guess most people know....but for those that do not know...it is things that you want to do before you die...for me...it is a lot of travelling...places i would like to see....it could also be something you want to do...for example to sky dive...which i must admit...was on my bucket list at some stage but i scrapped it...why...they say...once you have children, you cannot be selfish and do such risky things....and somehow...i do agree....gliding from a mountain is still on the bucket list though, cause you glide, which means it is open before you start.... You might be thinking...why is she writing this bucket list on a blog...well...because a piece of paper gets lost.....and on the ipad, it can get erased

Chef Table at Norwegian Jade

WOW......that is what i can say....truely an experience.....a first for me....and it was divine....now you are probably like...what is she going on about...but maybe you have figured it out from the heading of my blog. Kim organised for us to attend the chef table on the cruise...this normally happends once a week and as you might guess by the name, the chef attends it and talks you through a 9 course meal with a few wine pairings. There is one table and it seats 12 guests. The evening started off in the Tankard bar, one of the bars on the ship, with a glass of Berlucchi Cuvée 61 Rose from Lombardy, Italy. A very nice brut bubbly. After that they took a group pic of the 12 of us and then we were shown to our table and were seated as our name tags directed. The chef then came and introduced himself, Chef Rodney from Barbados. Throughout the night he came and gave an explanation on each dish before we tasted it. He also explained a little about himself, how he got to where he is now, ab
