Roatan.....one and only :-)

Image
No, we have not gone there only once.....BUT we did not do very much at this port and hence there will only be one blog about it. The one time Kim, Sofia and I went out just for a coffee....a typical Honduran coffee.....we decided to take a Frappuccino rather than a cappuccino because it was just too hot. It was called Walala....and guess what, it was delicious....of course sweet...but delicious....let me share a pic.... Coffee Place Unfortunately I did not take a pic of our Frappuccino because I thought we would go there again...but we did not end up going there again because most of the times we actually stayed on the ship and enjoyed our time there. The time when my parents were onboard we did go out, but dad felt like a beer and that is NOT possible at the coffee place so we decided to take a drink at Monkey La...let me share a pic of the Monkey La.... Monkey La Dad enjoyed his beer and mom and I both enjoyed a frozen Margarita....and it was damn good...in fact

Last Cozumel...at least for a while

Image
The last Cozumel my parents were onboard with us...and we decided to take them out for some typical Mexican lunch....we made our way to the main village area where we had lunch at the same spot where we also enjoyed my birthday lunch, the place where Sofia was feeding the birds, only this time the birds were not there...oh well, Sofia was still able to run around the square without us having to worry about cars. For foodies we decided to do family style sharing.....of course nachos with guacamole (we even had to order twice because everyone LOVES guacamole), beef fahita, deep fried octopus and conch ceviche.....of course no meal in Mexico is complete without a frozen margarita for the ladies and a beer for the men. Let me share some pics of the food.... Nacho chips, salsa and guacamole Beef fahita Fried octopus The food was delicious....my favourite was the guacamole and the conch ceviche (of which this time I did not take a picture...if you want to see a picture

Harvest Caye

Two more Harvest Caye...one just the three of us and the last one my parents were onboard, so of course they joined us. The first one with just the three of us we actually managed to explore some areas which we had NOT been to before. First though we went to the beach where of course Sofia loved playing in the sand and running and swimming in the sea....it is not easy to get her out, we promised to take her to see the butterflies and she somehow thought that might be an okay deal. Off we went to buy a margarita at our favourite spot and then we went to see the parrots, the butterflies, the lizards and the snakes. They have a small area where you can go inside with the butterflies and view the other animals, very cute for the little kids. Sofia enjoyed seeing the insects and birds. After that we actually went to the pool area, we had seen it before but we never went inside the pool...this time we thought we would explore a little bit. Sofia loved the pool....she could waddle a

Costa Maya- 2x

2x.....yes, one time Kim, Sofia and I....and one time with my parents.....the time we went out with Kim...was the one and only time Kim joined us....why...cause I saw this Palm Tree Margaritas and I did not want to have one on my own....so Kim thought....hmmmm...let me join them.....as we all know it is just a small tourist village with some shops and bars....so yes...we headed to the parrots because Sofia always loves seeing them and there at the bar we had a Palm Tree Margarita.....you might be wondering what that is....it is a Margarita in a Palm Tree glass...hahaha....let me share a pic... Kim Sofia and I (Sofia was more curious about the palm tree than looking at papa) The parrots (macaw parrots) are beautiful....well, to look at, I would not want one at home. They also have flamingos...and all animals are free to roam....quite amazing...have a look... Kim and Sofia looking at the macaw parrots Flamingos After our drinks and walk through the village,

Cozumel....

Image
Yes....we have been there again....in fact as we all know every week....the first three weeks I combined it in one blog.....then there was the Playa Mia blog....and then there will be this Cozumel blog and one more when my parents are onboard. Before I start though....I totally forgot to share a pic from one of the first three Cozumels...and I would like to share it...because I think it is quite cute...for two reasons...the little beetle cars...and Sofia. Sofia with the beetles So...what did we do this Cozumel.....we actually waited for Sofia to wake up from her morning nap and then decided to go out for some lunch.....we had been to the place before, Jeanie...and we liked the food...the margaritas were ok...but I thought maybe they have changed them to the better...I was open to give it another chance.....so off we went around 1pm. Let me share a pic of the food....Kim and I shared the nacho chips with guacamole and salsa and a beef fahita. We were extremely glad that we sha

Sofia's first time on stage

Image
Yes.....on stage.....let me tell you the story....Sofia is 18 months.....and as mentioned before every week there is the kiddies circus on the ship (3 years and above). We go and watch every week....the youngest ones (3-5 years) always do their tiger roars and tiger dances and jumping through hoops...extremely cute.  The older ones are the clowns or the acrobats or the jugglers etc. This week, Sofia's youth councillor, Cherry, who by the way is absolutely amazing....asked whether Sofia wanted to be a tiger. She said, Sofia comes and watches every week, she knows me, why don't we see whether she would come on stage with us....I LOVED the idea...but in all honesty, I was not sure whether Sofia would love it. So just before 15:30 (official starting time), Sofia, Kim (who definitely did not want to miss it, just in case she would go on stage) and I sat in the front row with the other tigers. Sofia got her face painted like a little tiger and actually held still...I was amazed. A

Playa Mia- Cozumel

Image
New Year's day....we are in Cozumel....we were not quite sure if restaurants are open so we thought why not take Sofia to the beach a little bit...in fact more like a beach resort....shorex (shore excursions) actually has an "excursion".....well, they sell tickets onboard (make your own way there by taxi) and then stay as long as you want, all food and drinks included. The three of us left the ship just after 9am.....and when we arrived, we were amazed....at the entrance there was a Starbucks (and seeing that I did not have a cappuccino yet, that is exactly what I needed). Let me explain a little what this beach resort Playa Mia is.....at the entrance you get a bracelet which is either "day pass", "day pass with buffet" or "day pass with buffet and bar"...the last is the one we had....after receiving the bracelet we walked past the few shops (clothes and souvenirs), two pools, slides, a kids play area pool and made our way to the beach.

Christmas Time

Image
Yes...I am a little bit behind...but we all know my issues with internet when I am onboard...so you will just have to excuse me....first of all....Happy New Year.....hope it's going to be good one for all of us. Let's take a few days back...Christmas time on the ship....they always make it special for Christmas, so yes, we were excited. We received a Christmas tree in the cabin (yes, a REAL one) and decorated it with some lights and green, gold and red balls....we thought we need a Christmas tree for Sofia...what is Christmas without a Christmas tree. All around the ship there were also a lot of Christmas trees and Gingerbread houses...amazing....in the atrium they even had a train track and Christmas presents all around...very nice decoration....Sofia of course wanted to remove all the presents and bring them to Papa...who then had to put them back....hahaha.....let me share a few pics... Sofia re-arranging the presents Sofia opening her Moomin Christmas calendar
