More food and lots of pics

So Saturday morning....what better way than to start it with brunch....last week was a great cheese brunch at home....This week i was meeting a friend at Vovo Telo at Cresta....yes...there is a couple of them now....Lonehill, Parktown North, Grayston, Stanley on 4th (that is the ones i know about)....So i met my friend, Bronwyn, she was up from Cape Town,...ordered some tea and coffee....just love the tea cup and tea can...the cup is made from metal or something like thAt and the bottom is made from wood..SO cute.....for breakfast there is a wide selection...wot i love....portion sizes really reasonable....you def manage to eat it all.....i had a breakfast with avo, feta and soft poached egg (Egg cooked to perfection....yes you would expect that...often they get it wrong though), she had poached egg (medium poached...also perfecto).... with gypsy ham and coriander aioli..both were divine, well..I know mine was and she said hers was...and it looked good..Here are the pics......

So...NOW...lets talk about food...Oh shit....i think thats all i have talked about in the last few blogs.....oh well.....and no eating is not the only thing i do.....but just some interesting places that i have been to and i guess they deserve to me mentioned....so Sunday, i organised high tea....actually wanted to go two weeks ago....fully booked...last week Sunday had the Greek fiesta....so booked for today.....high tea is SAturday or SundAy.....we decided for the Sunday one...starts at 1300 and ends at 1600.....last time i went FoR high tea it was served at the Polo Lounge...this time they have increased the fancyness...was in the main dining room....i must admit i preferred the setting in the Polo Lounge...i find the restaurant a little too formal....but the buffet looked hell of an impressive....i guess for the price....it should be...anyway...its not something u do every Sunday....here is pic of savoury and sweet buffet.....

So...lets tell you about some of the foodies.....savoury....sushi.....carprese salad, quiches, sausage rolls, roast, eggs in tempura, soups, citrus salad, roasted veg on pancakes, seafood pasta and and and.......sweets....red velvet cupcakes, scones, choc mousse, creme brulee, cheese cake, choc brownie and and and.....way too much choice....and it was really good....let me think.....didnt like the fact tHat the mozzarella was pizza mozzarella and not fresh, loved the salmon wrap and citrus salad....roast not great (or so my dad said)..... Soups great.....and there were a hell of a lot of fresh fruit also...missing....yes....u might guess what ill say...cheese platter.....desserts...i went for baked citrus cheese cake....choc brownie and choc opera cake....here is some more pics....

So yes....i also tried the custard slice...ok...And the choc mousse....amazing taste....could have been a little fluffier...but lets put it In short (u probably thinking...man why could she not have put it in short at the beginning...first she makes us read through all the detail...just to get a one liner....oh well...) here is the one liner..the food was great and yes....i would do it again.....afterwards my dad wanted to smoke a cigar...so off we went downstairs to the Polo Lounge....good to know that you are allowed to smoke cigars there....hmmmmm....Anyway....we ended up all having a drink, enjoying the view....good end to the week...or good start to a new week.....cant believe its the 2nd Sept already....3 weeks since coming from the ship.....in 10 DAYS TIME...its just a month before being back on the ship and in 10 days time......

Wedding time.....my baby sister's wedding

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
