Ritorno di Fiamma (Montisi)

Montisi....a quaint....very small....medieval village in the Southern Tuscany...beautiful.....this is the closest village to where we live....and this is a new little place. Let me share a pic...

Montisi house

Mom, dad and Mutti had been there before and said the food and atmosphere was great...service not the fastest...but nice....and also a great place with Sofia because they have a big terrace.....it was a sunny day...around lunch time...and spontanously we decided to go to this little place for lunch....of course on the terrace...beautiful views over the Tuscan hills.

Of course we ordered some Prosecco from Valdobbiadene and the men ordered draft beer...which came ice cold, exactly how they like it. We all thought we would go for one course....mom, Mutti and me decided to take a caprese salad and a Fiamma piatto (which is a mixture of all their antipasti) and dad and kim decided to have the 1/2 baby chicken with roasted potatoes. Let me share some pics...

The food was delicious. On the platter i loved the aubergine brushetta, the roasted pepper brushetta and the marinated aubergine with parmesan....the zucchini carpaccio was ok...the cheese and cold meat...well i always love, thinnly sliced, not too fatty...yummie. My absoloute favourite though was the marinated aubergine with parmesan, tomatoes and reduced balsamico. The caprese was also very good. Kim and dad both really enjoyed their chicken and potatoes, infact they both wished they had taken the full baby chicken cause it was too small for them. Yes, the service with regards to drinks a little slow...but the food was delicious, they were nice and Sofia enjoyed the terrace.
Dessert comprised of coffees.....final verdict....would we go back...absoloutely, yes....so a nice little place....go and try it. Now i am off for some dinner....stuffed chicken (sundried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and spinach) served with spinach and baby potatoes....salad with avo to start....my mouth is watering...so off i go...cheers from me.
