Il Fornacino (Guazzino)

Wow...wow....wow....we loved it...and yes, we will definitely go back. We always drive past it, and somehow, there was just something that intrigued me, something that caught my eye...and i have been wanting to go there for quite some time...so finally, tonight was the time.

The menu looked delicious and the wine carte was huge. Mom and i decided to share a prosecco and dad some Chianti red wine. Mom and i chose a bottle and when it arrived mom and i looked at each other....we do not like see through bottles, we just feel they seem cheap. So i told the lady, i am sorry but can we chAnge because we do not like the bottle, she changed without problems...and the one she recommened instead, was €1.00 cheaper...that i thought was great service. My dad's red wine on the other hand i thought was quite pricey at €5.00 per glass. Anyway....moving on....the menu looked amazing...in fact i really struggled cause there were quite a few things that i wanted to try....in the end we decided to share two starters between the three of us....

We chose the Tuscan antipasti platter and the tortino di patate con fonduta di parmigiana e tartufo.....both...wow....the platter was very big for the price and i loved the "pecorino souffle with caramalized onion" as well as the tomAto confit...but all was great, the pecorino and balsamic brushetta, the cold meats, the cheese and even the chicken liver pate brushetta and lard brushetta. The tortino was also amazing...dad loved it sooooo much...yes, i would order both dishes again....let me share some pics....

For mains i was debating between tagliata and the stuffed rabbit....i ended up going with the tagliata with porcini (entrecote medium rare), mom decided the tagliata with pecorino and baby tomatoes and dad chose the ragu.....we all LOVED our food, it was so yummie and perfectly cooked. The plates for the tagliate were not great cause it was a little difficult to cut the meat in a pasta plate...but delicious nevertheless. Let me share some pics (ps, the portions were extremely generous)...

For dessert we decided to share the tiramisu. They mentioned that it was not a traditional tiramisu which i actually liked, that way we knew it might be different and would not be surprised or disappointed when it came. It came in a pasta bowl with the crema and the biscuits and then then waitress poured over the espresso infront of us....dad did not really like it....mom and i really enjoyed it....also beautifully presented...let me share a pic....

What a great eveining...Sofia was a busy bee...running around..trying food...but so well behaved...it was a pleasure...and on the way home in the car, she fell asleep....a great night out...and yes, we would definitely go back. Now...i am off to bed, goodnight....we chat soon.
