Bastia and Brando di Erbalunga
This will be short and sweet.....in the morning we opted not to have breakfast at the hotel but rather explore one of the patisserias around....a local spot....breakfast consited of the a mini beignet, a mini "raisin" and a tarte des pommes....and two cappuccini......the coffee was good, not what one would call a cappuccino though, and the sweets were amazing...especially the beignet and the apple tarte....just sooooo yummie...i think i have not eaten so many sweets as on this vacation....time to eat savoury things back home in bella Italia. Anyway....let me share a pic of our breakfast....
With the bike we made our way to Brando di Erbalunga through the montain villages of Ville-di-Pietrabugno then San-Martini-di-Lota and then Santa-Maria-di-Lota. Again...very beautiful mountain villages with the typical stone houses....let me share some pics...
We stopped our north-word journey in Erbalunga where we indulged in some cappuccino and a beer for Kim. It is a very preety village with a few restaurants and i must admit i could stay there for a night, very quaint. Let me share some pics...
So....this would conclude our trip...almost, we bought a jambon (ham) sandwich and a chocolate pastry at the patisserie in Erbalunga and then stopped at the spar to buy some sparkling water, cooked ham and Corsican grapes....this would be our snack for the ferry. The ferry would be 4 hours. Let me share a pic of the Bastia harbour with you....
On the ferry, we enjoyed some outside time in the sun before going inside where we enjoyed some foodies, coffee and of course and ice-cream for kim. Back in Italy we decided not to take the scenic route home but rather the fastest one which was through San Gimignano to Siena and then home (not highway though).
Corsica was absoloutely amazing, we definitely will go back because we have not seen it all....we have left the north of the nord cap as well as south (Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio) for next time....we did not wanna rush and wanted to relax as well...but it really is the island of beauty and i would recommend it to anyone. Just so beautiful. From me now...cheers....you will still hear a little bit more about Corsica, specifically about the chestnuts and the typical corsican products we tried.....ciao for now.
