Fornacino....again

Yes, we have been there not even a week ago...but it was mom, dad, Sofia and me....Kim had not gone there, so i wanted to take him. So off we went on Wednesday night....kind of a date night. We were the first table there (19:15), we chose a corner table by the window and ordered some acqua frizzante...the wine list is extensive and it took us some time to choose the wine....i would have prefered a prosecco but kim thought red wine would go better....and i did not mind to compromise for a rosso di montepulciano. The one we wanted....unfortunately out of stock....but as i said their wine list is extensive, so we easily found another rosso di montepulciano. Once the wine arrived we ordered the starter.....to share...i told kim the tortino was very nice and i believe he would enjoy....so yes, we ordered the tortino di patate.

What i loved was....it came already divided, beautifully presented on two plates, each tortino piece covered with ample cheese and ample tartufo, they were very generous.....it was fantastic...and we both loved it....just needed a little salt...but then again...to what do i not add salt...hahaha. Let me share a pic....

For mains, Kim was debating between the chianina beef stew, the tagliata con rosmary or the stuffed coniglio (rabbit). I was debating between the tagliata and the coniglio.....so we decided to take one tagliata and one coniglio and share a little bit. Kim's tagliata was ordered rare and it came with roasted potatoes, and my coniglio came with spinach. Both portions were generous....beautifully presented and perfectly cooked and flavoured. We really enjoyed our meal. I prefer rabbit which is not stuffed....but then again, i normally do not order stuffed meat....i was more interested in the rabbit...and that was very tender. The rabbit was stuffed with veal and truffles...and then also covered with a little bit of truffles.
Let me share some pics.....

Dessert we decided to give a skip.....we thought we would enjoy an ice cream at home....we needed time to digest...hahaha...and Kim also wanted a grappa and that was better at home when you do not have to drive afterwards. The waitress and the chef recognised us which was very nice.....So yes, we had another good meal at Fornacino...and again....we would go back.
Tomorrow we are off to Finland so that Ben and Sofia get to see their grandparents and cousins. I am sitting at the hairdresser getting my hair done now so i am all in order for travelling tomorrow...so have a great day and we chat soon....probably from Finland next time...so cheers.
