Radolfzell.....finally.....great cappuccino

As you might be aware, we are back in Radolfzell because my Oma passed away....we have been out doing some walks in between organising and sorting out things.....so now...i can finally say (hence the word finally in the subject) that we have found a great cappuccino.....but ill leave the best experience till last....so i am going to tell you about the other ones we have had.....

First off....Altstadt Cafe....this was not a coffee shop mom and I would have chosen, but we were invited there, so we went there.....the atmosphere inside was, to me, non existent....black leather chairs, dark tables and for me that is rather cold....just nothing to it....the cappuccino....not good at all.....it was served in a soup like cup (meaning very very big) and hence the coffee was very milky, the foam was way too airy and way too little.....there was no choc sprinkle, there was a biscuit though....but i will not go back to this place....i had some savoury food (will be discussed another time), mom had a "zwetschgekuchen" plumb-cake which was quite nice....in my opinion it could have had more plumbs but the bottom and crumble was good....but as mentioned i would not go back if i wanted cappuccino...and normally with cake i want cappuccino...so nope, not going back there.....

Next up....Cafe zur Burg....mom said the cappuccino was ok there...so i decided i needed to get my own opinion....so off we went....cappuccino was ok....the foam rather thin and a little to little....coffee not too strong...but all in all not too bad....but what was amazing was the cake...i had a "zwetschgenkuchen" plumb-cake....and man....it was so damn good....crispy bottom....topped with plumbs and then crumble on top...yummie yummie...and not stingy with the plumbs at all...was so yummie...let me share a pic with you....the cake was so damn big....the pic does not do justice....the cake was so damn good that i would go back...also cause the cappuccino was not the best but not too bad...(ps. No choc sprinkles...but there was a biscuit)

Next up....Eiscafe Lazzara....owned by Italians...all family working in there....we went there....And guess what they have all home-made ice cream...and very interesting flavours...check this one....Mohn-marzipan (poppyseed-marzipan)....i tried...quite nice tasting...but i must admit...i did not really taste the marzipan...the cappuccino....not a bad coffee...not too milky....foam was ok...a little thin but not too bad....there is quite a bit of foam...there was choc sprinkles and also a cookie...yummie....so all in all not bad at all...and i will now share two pics with you....

Now finally to the cappuccino you have been waiting for...in fact the place we have now gone back over and over cause it is very good....and consistently good...funny enough it is a "button" machine....not the good old fashioned proper Italian coffee machine (and that really surprised me). It is a Franke machine (Swiss-made), there is a touch screen in the front, the person presses cappuccino and it comes out...the amazing thing is that the owner can adjust the milk consistency....And clearly the owner likes cappuccino like i do....with a thick foam and a lot of it....first time i thought oh oh....looks like a big soup cup and it is a "button" machine..but....i was pleasantly...bery pleasantly surprised....the coffee is strong, not milky...thick foam...a lot of foam...choco sprinkles...and a milk choc (chocolate...even better than a biscuit)...hmmmm...what else could i want...absoloutely nothing....amazing cappuccino...let me share a pic of the machine and also one of the cappuccino....

Cappuccino at Kutmuehle

The most important question now should be....where was this...what was the name.....(drum-roll)..... Kutmuehle.....and guess what...out of all the cappuccinos we have had in Radolfzell....the cheapest...and by far the best..so yes...we have been back a few times...and we will go a few more times...in fact we even had breakfast there once...cappuccino and brezel....

Cappuccino and brezel

Just bad that on Saturday is closes at 13:00 and on a Sunday it is closed the whole day....i guess we will need to go somewhere else on those two days...damn....so for now...enough cappuccino....next blog will be about random stuff in Radolfzell...maybe some food..and let's see what else....

So....before I end it though...i thought i would share the experience about Sunday.....mom and i decided to take a walk to Insel Mettnau to Oma's favourite lunch place....Strandcafe.....mom and i decided we wanted to have a nice piece of cake and we know....there we would get it on a Sunday...let's see about the cappuccino....well the "zwetschgekuche", plumb-cake, was amazing...so was the cream.....really delicious....the cappuccino....nope....the foam was ok in thickness, average, not too thick not blow-away, there was quite a bit of it...but the coffee itself was bad...i tasted pretty much milk...it was very weak...also no choc sprinkles and no cookie...but cake made up for it....hahaha...would i go back...yes...for cake...and an aperitivo...or for lunch even...cause food is yummie....see pic below

So...now my blog is finished....next time....some random stuff on Randolfzell...maybe food...maybe some beautiful random pics....from me...cheers for now...
