Cappuccino in Italy

So...as you might already be aware...i have been in Italy lately...well for 3 weeks....main reason so that little Sofia and I get to see Papa every Saturday on the ship.....so while being in Italy of course we have sampled some cappuccinos....now you are thinking...oh my...this is gonna be a loooooong blog....every day a place to have a cappuccino....WRONG....why...cause the apartment/hotel we are staying at (Il Teatro in Lido di Jesolo), has AMAZING cappuccino...and i mean really really AMAZING....it is Segafredo coffee, so it is strong, the cup size is perfect, and the foam thick and a good quantity...so every morning...without skipping one morning, i have had two cappuccini...then most of the days I actually did not feel like another cappuccino....there were some exceptions, hence I have some other comments amount cappuccinos....but not so much.....let me start with sharing a pic of the cappuccino served at our hotel Il Teatro.....

Cappuccino, proscuitto cotto, grapes, pancetta and brie
Macchiato
Cappuccino
All three coffees above are at our hotel....cappuccino as you can see is consistenly good....foam so yummie....once or twice there was a little too much milk...then i just ordered another espresso...and it was perfecto....once i also ordered a macchiato (second pic above), and perfecto....moving on to the next experience.....
This one was in Treviso....after our outing to Prosecco, we decided to do a small stop in Treviso...dad wanted a cigar and we were all craving a cappuccino after our meal...we stopped at this small coffee/ snackbar called il torro, the cappuccino was good....not excellento, but good....the brand was Coppion caffe...strong coffee....the foam was thick...but there was not enough of it....and there was no cookies and no sprinkles....damn....would i go there again....nope, i would try a different place....but it was not bad at all.....

Next up....Padova...i still need to write my blog about Padova but for now i will write about the cappuccino experience.....we chose this coffee/ snackbar and the cappuccino as well as the biscuit/ pastery was bad, the foam was not too bad but the rest was, too big, too much milk, hence too weak, no sprinkles and no cookie...the cookie/ pastry next to it, we bought....some special biscuit type from there but it was dry and not nice...had some jam in it....and was just plain dry...i definitely do not recommend it.....

Next up....A place in Venezia....the brand Caffe del Doge....the coffee had a good strength, the foam was thick, the size was good...could have had a little bit more foam, no sprinkles and no cookie....damn....but i was happy with the cappuccino.....next time i would pick a different spot cause it was not the nicest setting...but not too bad....i guess in Venezia you do not wanna be in the nicest setting cause then you pay the price...cappuccino on St Marks square is around €15....are they mad......let me share a pic of the Venezia coffee with you....

One day we also went to the outlet mall near Jesolo...and wow....what a cool outlet mall...it really has everything...from Burberry to Gucci to Furla....amazing.....and the shops are beautifully done....after a little while i had had enough.....mom, Fabienne and Mutti carried on and the rest sat down for a drink....the opinion on coffee....good....the foam was thick, the size was good, the strength was great....could have just had a bit more foam...and again...no sprinkles and no cookie.....dad was dissappointed with his Aperol Spritz...cause it was totally flat...and that definitely should not be the case.....but anyway....this is about cappuccino not about aperitifo.....pic is below....

Now to my last cappuccino.....at a little cafe/ snackbar near our hotel called Opera....and guess what...definitely good....the foam was thick, there was a lot, coffee strong, cup the right size....we even got a cookie....no sprinkles though.....but def will have again and would go there again....in fact we have been back a number of times...not just coffee....also aperitifo and parma ham platter.....and it was very good....and yes, you can definitely go wrong with both....aperitifo....specifically Aperol Spritz could be flat and parma ham could be cut too thick.....let me share two pics....

So yes....in general the cappuccino experiences have been excellento....so finito cappuccino in Italy.....next blog will be about Padova...for now cheers....
