Barcelona cappuccino

So....what blog comes first....of course my famous cappuccino blog....and this time i have very good news....yay....in barcelona there wer a few places which know how to make a good cappuccino....isnt that great news.....first up....

Cappuccino at Vaca Paca
This was near Passeig de Gracia.....Fabienne, the two little ones and I met mom, dad and Mutti for a cappuccino near where they were staying....dad was quite in a hurry to sit down hence he chose some random place which seemed more like a restaurant type place than a coffee place, and the proof was in the cappuccino, the foam was very light, meaning way too much air and the coffee itself rather milky, we were not off to a good start in Barcelona, but i was hopeful cause we were still here for some time.....
Next up Farggi cafe.....we went to the one by Placa Catalunya.....now we were talking....strong coffee....thick foam....choc syrup on top....cookie.....it was delicious.....wow....definitely would go back there....yummie....it definitely was quite pricey....€3.50....but it was definitely worth it.....in other words....we will come back.....
Farggi cafe
Next up...Cappuccino near the university metro stop....cafe called...universidad.....sadly...cannot rave about it....the foam was blow away thin....kind of non existent....coffee was a little milky and thus not strong...all in all...not very happy with it and i would not recommend or go back.....but i guess not all cappuccinos can be perfecto....hahaha....let me share a pic with you.....
Universidad cafe
After not having had a good cappuccino in the morning, we wanted a guaranteed good cappuccino in the afternoon, so guess what....we chose...Farggi cafe.....i had my usual.....cappuccino...and i recommended a cafe bonbo for Fabienne....it is a typical Barcelona cafe....espresso with condensded milk....sweet...yet very delicious...like a small praline....

We decided to give another restaurant near Fabienne's flat a shot at making cappuccino.....this was called 76 Tallers....that is also the street name...it is near the universidad stop...this was a good effort at a cappuccino...foam was thick...coffee strong and not too milky...but there should have been more foam...it was a very very thin layer...and it was cinnamon on top rather than choc...and no cookie...but i know...cookies is something you seldom get.....so not a bad effort and yes, i would go back there to have another cappuccino...

76 Tallers
Mom decided to even have a second cappuccino...but it was a different lady who made it, so the foam was not as thick....but she survived...hahaha......next up.....el Cafeto....in the gothic quater...do not ask me where exactly it is cause we were just wondering around...then it was time for coffee and we just sat down in a little place that looked nice...and guess what...we were positively surprised.....it was Segafredo coffee...which i love....the foam was quite thick (could have been a little bit thicker), there was a lot of foam....there was choc sprinkles on top and we even got a Segafredo chocolate....delicious...so yes, this was actually a very very good experience...damn...i should really have made a note on my map where we were.....and thank you Mutti for giving your choc to me.....yummie
Cappuccino at el Cafeto
One day we visited Girona which is about 120km north of Barcelona...but ill go into all of that another blog...this is all about cappuccino...so let's chat about the cappuccino we had in Girona...yes, not quite Barcelona, but I am not going to write a blog just with one cappuccino experience, hence I will include the Girona experience in this blog.....verdict on the Girona cappuccino....it was weak, the foam too little and too thin...so all in all...not a cappuccino i would run back to at all...actually it reminded me of the Vaca Paca experience in Barcelona.....
Girona near the church in the old town

Last but not least.....cappuccino at the airport in Barcelona.....it was a rather large cup, a bit smaller would have been great cause it made the cappuccino a little bit too milky...but not too bad...the foam was thick, there was a lot of it...it had a lot of choc powder on top...so yes...i was very happy...in fact I did have a second one....would i go to that coffee shop again....absoloutely....do i know the name....nope....i just know it was the first one we saw when we went through security....we did not wanna walk far....Sofia was hungry and hence we wanted to sit asap.....definitely worth though....it was a small self service cafeteria.....let me show you a pic....

Cappuccino at Barcelona airport
So....as you can see I had quite a few cappuccinos in Barcelona and I had some very good experiences...especially Fraggi and el Cafeto....both i would go again...Fraggi is quite expensive, but as i said before...worth it....so...that concludes my cappuccino blog from Barcelona...next up...maybe some foodies...maybe Girona...let's see what i am inspired to write about....hope you enjoyed...and hope you are still eagerly reading my blogs and waiting for them.....i know i am sometimes a little slow...but having a small one in the house takes a lot of time...hence i am not always the fastest anymore...anyway...now i am off to dinner soon....so you hear from me again...hopefully soon....cheers.....
