Venice

So....another end to another cruise......now i dont have many left.....2 in actual fact....cannot believe....4months....almost gone....i guess when you are enjoying time does fly.....so today my schedule was exactly the same as last week, start at 6am until 10:30 and then again 14:30 until 20:00...... So i would have a nice lunch gap.....maybe some real Pizza was in order......hmmmmmm......so when i was off i quickly changed, you know me, i can be done in 5min, and Kim and i went off. Today we docked at a different spot quite a bit further away and man.....it was so hot...so today for the first time i used the people mover......(normally i do the uphill walk to Piazzala di Roma, but not today)....... It was actually good that Kim showed me...cause i think i might need it when i have my luggage for the airport (its this small electrical train shuttle that takes you from port to Piazzala di Roma, where the main train station and bus stops are)..anyway....im not leaving yet.....so lets not talk about that......when we were in Piazzala di Roma....we once again turned right which took us into the less touristy area.....strolled around for a little.....and ate some homemade waffle/bread vanilla ice cream....man thats a bad explanation....ok....here is a better one, its a rectangular shape, vanilla ice cream sandwiched in between two waffle type cookies (but it is ALL HOMEMADE incl. the waffle type cookie).....was damn good........then of course time for Pizza........should we risk a new place or go back to the one we know that had soooooo many choices and was so good......hmmmmm......lets go back to the same spot.......so here is a pic of the restaurant....

What i have to say......this time i also went to see the inside....and it was so cute...all wooden interior and checkered table clothes and Chianti wines displayed....what a nice vibe......so what Pizza to have this time (again, we knew we were gonna share cause no way i would leave without eating my pistaccio ice cream)...... So this time it was Cappricosa (ham, artichokes and mushrooms....and yes, i asked for it to have buffalo mozzarella.....) what a great choice......pizza base thin and the toppings were better this time....no sausage that i didnt like so much......Here is a pic of the pizza.....

And yes....i dont think i need to say.....it goes without saying.....after lunch a good macchiato was in order.....nice foam.....but today not as good as last time.....i think the winner is actually Mykonos....hmmmmmm......im hoping South Africa is still as good as my memory says......otherwise ill be very disappointed.....strolling around, we went back to the same place we had the first ice cream at and i got some pistaccio, of course, and Kim got cherry and some weird looking one (i actually think its that traditional Italian cake with the fruit bits etc....no clue what its called.....my dad loves it....pana something....well whatever..... U get the point...weird flavour).....here is me eating ice cream....

So....another Venice almost done.....i say almost done even-though i have not done my second shift cause when im inside doing work....i honestly dont know what port we are in.....ok....maybe i do....cause Venice port we are always super busy with guests.....and actually maybe according to the number of guests we have at reception, i would be able to tell what port we are in.....(wow....that was just some useless info for you).....hmmmmm...and i think i know why.....cause right now....i just have some spare time, like 10min....and im not sure how to send them....so i am babbling a litte in my blog......let me stop before u get bored......

So Venice is over.....sea day was uneventful....expect for me trying these banana type cakes for the first time.....i tell you why they were so good....the biscuit pastry around it, hmmmmm.....u know im not a fan of cake crust....(it was like the crust you get around mince pies at Christmas), at the bottom was a layer of custard, good but again not the highlight....now then when so good.....then there came a nice layer of fresh bananas, yum and then the best part a generous layer of marzipan.....man.....so so goood....i mean i love marzipan.....when i go overseas, i always buy marzipan to take home cause we dont get in South Africa.....i mean i even went to the maripan museum in Budapest....anyways....the cake was great.....little rich and i could do with a little less pastry.....so instead of small ones....i would make one big one and then cut it like a cake cause then you get less pastry biscuit.......anyway....Venice, sea day and Corfu (which im not going into cause it was just the drill and i could not get out......next time......Santorini and Mykonos.....
