Katakolon

So...as promised today im gonna write about Katakolon.....Crew enrichment party.....sothe day started off quite early, morning shift, then at 10 we had our weekly emergency drill, which went very fast cause it was monthly captain's meeting afterwards.......after drill it was the meeting.....normally i wouldnt tell you about the meeting but this one was actually quite eventful......first was the usual admin stuff and then most of the officers said something about the crew...thanking them...you know enrichment to the crew stuff......then. There was an unexpected one.....staff captain decided to to his video in a towel....Wow...that got quite a reaction and some whistles......but then captain and chief engineer did theirs......the video started off all normal....captain dressed in his white day uniform...then chief engineer comes in, in beach clothes, and the video ends with captain in his beach shorts, no shirt...and of course it was loved by the crew and got a lot of whistles.......it was a lot of fun to watch.....after the meeting i had another 30min shift and then i was meeting Banu and Ambra to take the bus to the beach party....So......the bus....we had to wait for a while.....so Banu, Ambra and i took some pics....here is us waiting.....

The bus trip...when it finally arrived was quick, 15min.....and wow....the beach had a vibe of note.....it was great, so well pulled off, everyone having fun.....great barbeque, i need to say barbeque not braai cause that is what they called it, honestly good.....we swam....chatted....and just had fun.....here are some pics.....

I stayed around 2hrs cause Kim needed to go back to the ship and he had rented a scooter and going back with the scooter sounded like a very good idea........so around 2:30 Kim and i took the scooter, and yes, i didnt drive, and went back to the ship...So Kim normally drives Harleys....but i guess he had to downgrade a little and do it a little bit more island style......haha.....the scooter was very fast.....haha....but honestly it was so much fun...i actually thought i was on holiday.......back at the ship i went off into Katakolon just to buy some presents.....also tried some traditional Greek brandy, a herb one and a plumb one....so nice that i bought some....my shift started at 4:30 and 3 hrs later i was done.....yay....what a great day......evening consisted of some relaxing time infront of the TV.......good day......

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
