Mykonos.....Katakolon......
So......Mykonos.....hmmmmm......i was off until 1pm....but its not so much fun when you cant go out without anyone...well someone you like (there is always someone, but i would rather be alone than go out with someone i dont like....).....yes.....schedules etc are different......but i could not NOT go out.....you know me....then i would feel like im lazy....and Not appreciating new places....plus i think its good to get some fresh air away from the ship....doesnt have to be long.....just a little......so off i went around 9, took the shuttle bus and my aim was to go to my usual coffee spot and have some good cappuccino.....the best one....i even took a pic.....here it is
I spent most of my time there....looking around, playing on the internet a little...and actually just taking a few deep breadth and enjoying.....am i getting too poetic and dreamy....hmmmmm...maybe....but im allowed every now and then......after my cappuccino it was only around 11:30 but i thought id go back and have some lunch on the ship.....Garden cafe.....yes....good idea.....so on the way back i past this tiny bakery.....and man the smell coming from it....so inviting......so i went inside..looked around and couldnt help buying...first the lady, in broken english, explained the various goodies....2 appealed to me...almond cookie and almond nougat thingy....in the end i went with almond nougat because it is a traditional Greek island speciality while the other one is a Greece speciality......i ate it back on the ship....and it was really yummy.....no pic sorry...but a pic of the bakery....
While walking back to the shuttle bus i took some nice scenery pics, yes, i am complimenting myself....but so what.....
Had lunch at Garden cafe....and then...Not much happened anymore......work.....gym....dinner....work....sleep....and already it was Katakolon time.....morning i was very lazy and didnt go out...even though i would only start at 11:30.... Main reason for not going out.....kim and i were going for a late lunch/ early dinner once i would finish my first shift....at 15:30.... Would give us 2hrs...and ship is 5min from little village.....so that sounded like a good plan....so why rush out in the morning.....im saying lazy.....cause i really could have gone to gym....but some fresh air and sun just was so much more appealing......so after my first shift.....i rushed to change and sped to meet kim outside.....went to a local spot...i guess they are all local....but we had been there before, it was very good......so why not go back, especially it was his last Katakolon....actually his last lunch out (he is leaving this coming Venice, 4thAugust)..... So def needed a good lunch.....and yes....Greek salad.....grilled octopus some Greek deep fried cheese, spenajoka (or something like that)...... Of course bread and olive oil.....here is a pic
Wow....so good....i ate way too much bread at the end of the meal cause olive oil, lots of salt, dip the bread....nothing can beat it....funny enough the owner said.....hey, you know exactly how to eat it, we used to eat this exactly the way you do when we were children, olive oil, salt and dip the bread......hehe.....yes, i am a foodie😉.....dessert....No way...just a macchiato...Which was like an Irish coffee without the whisky.....excellento.....nice strong coffee and cream......after that it was a walk back to the ship and we ended up getting ice cream......vanilla and cookie, like Oreo cookies......yum yum.....the cookie parts reminded me of the brownie ice cream back at home from Woolies.....yes i know its chocolate ice cream with brownie bits.....but still comparable in my opinion.....man....im babbling again.....thats because im waiting for my shift to start tonight at 9pm until 1 am....what the hell.....never mind.....here is a pic from a distance of the restaurant and the promenade.....
And now sea day.......hmmmm started at 9:30.... Today was gonna be a looong day.....ending at 00:30...... So morning shift past quickly.....all these guests wanting to do adjustments and questions on the invoices.....but i like when the desk is busy...time flies.....then the plan was gym.....but somehow.....didnt happen....i thought would be nicer to spend some time with Kim and have a dinner with him before he left......Was really divine.....smoked salmon to start.....salmon and chopped salad for mains....he had lamb chops....and then shared a cheese plate....
damn the food was good....actually the entire dinner was great...although a lot of the time the thought that he is leaving tomorrow crossed my mind.....its always so sad when someone leaves....well not someone....a good friend...the only happy thought.....i also get to leave in a week...it is now time.....its funny how close you can become to people when you are on a ship...its an enclosed space.....its very different lifestyle....most of the time like 40 people around you eating with you....strange.....anyway....im getting all sentimental again.....its just really hard at times.....ok...ill stop now....anyways.....tomorrow is Venice....my last week on the ship...and yay...i am morning shift....so only Venice will be a late night....after that it shoud be better.....yay......and have some dinners and outings planned with some of the guys from my team....so hopefully time flies......Chat to you soon.........
