Mount Bre

Our last day in the south of Switzerland was spent exploring Mount Bre and Lugano....we decided to rather drive up as far as possible as opposed to taking the tram. When we arrived in the village, Bre, we parked the car and made our way up to the view-point. Well, we later realised we could have taken the car straight up there...but then again, it was very nice to walk and get fresh air. It was quite a steep walk up, about 2km and we had the pram. Sofia enjoyed it a lot though...so all worth it.....we arrived at the view-point and i have to say, the views were incredible....very beautiful, let me share some pics....

Up there....one restaurant.....where we decided to have a small local salami platter and a glass of local wine and local beer.....enjoying the view.

After that...time to explore Lugano. Its a large, commercial city, all the well know brands from Gucci, Versace, Prada can be found there....we strolled the streets a little and then sat down at a pasticceria to enjoy a sweet and a cappuccino....kim a cigar...a relaxing afternoon.
In the evening we tried a restaurany called il Ritrovo di Tino e Claudio. We walked in, white table clothes, a thought...oh oh....that is not what we wanted....oh well...we decided to sit down anyway. It was a great choice, the prices were very reasonable and the food was incredible. For starters kim and i shared the vitello tonnato, yummie.....thinly sliced and perfect balance of all the ingredients in the sauce....mayo, tuna, anchovies etc.....

For mains i had the parmiggiano (melanzana, parmeggiano cheese and tomato) and kim had the stuffed rabbit...both meals were incredible. The rabbit was so juice, tender, just delicious. One cannot even compare it to the rabbit stew in the grotto which was a little dry and tough, this was just beautiful.

Dessert....no space....we decided we would have a glass of wine back home on the balcony. So..this brings our 5 day vacation trip to the south of Switzerland to an end, we had a great time, seeing new places and discovering new things. Let's see where our next trip will be....cheers from me.
