Cannobio

Next two nights we spent at Lago di Maggiore in a village called Cannobio....we only spent the nights there...the days we used for exploring the surroundings. In fact, the first day we took our time to drive from Milano to Cannobio exploring most of the south-east side of the lake, we drove as much as possible on the lake shore....it is just so pretty.....its really breath-taking...the mountains on the side and the lake just next to it....we stopped in one of the villages called Verbania and indulged in some pizza and a small salad to share, the pizza was delicious, the salad a disappointment....but anyway....we splurged out by trying a seafood pizza....when we ordered kim had already spotted the apple struddle with vanilla ice-cream, so i guess we all know what kim ordered for dessert...hahaha...yes, i tried a bite...and it was damn good....sofia loved it too.....time to share some pics....

Play time after lunch
After lunch it was time to continue our journey....again...we took our time....stopping to take pics...letting Sofia play. Around 4pm we arrived in Cannobio. We quickly dropped the luggage and then we wanted to explore the picturesque town....rather beautiful with all the colourful houses on the lake side....all the little cafes, restaurants getting ready to serve aperitivo. Let me share some pics....
I love the colour contrast

After exploring....it was time for aperitivo.....how to choose...well, quite easy, we walked past a few places, and then we saw one where each of the tables had a small platter of cheese and cold meats....that must be the aperitivo platter, we thought, so guess what....we sat down. I ordered a prosecco and kim ordered a red wine from the region....and guess what....we did receive an aperitivo platter which consited of local cheese, cold cuts and bread snicks....delicious....
Aperitivo
After aperitivo we thought it was time to give Sofia some play space and we thought....let's do some cold cuts and cheese and some chinese take-out at home (you might be thinking...what are they doing having chinese take-out, but in all honesty we do not get it back home, so why not), we also bought a bottle of red wine...kim had his cigar and that is how we enjoyed our evening....all accompanied with a great view over the lake.....
Dinner take-out back at the hotel

Sofia was very happy to be able to crawl around and just enjoy, and in all honesty, after driving the whole day, we also enjoyed just to sit down and relax....put up our feet. Tomorrow would be another day of more exploring, but for now...cheers....we chat soon....(yes, i am on the ship at the moment, but i am a little bit behind...so you will hear about the ships soon).
