Repo

Repo cruise...i think i have explained before what a repo cruise is....but....it is short for repositioning...when the ship moves home port....and we are moving from rome to venice....yay...much better home port, in my opinion, so....first things first...kims sister and the family was coming on board.....and we were all going to have lunch together at Cagney's....man i was nervous...why....well meeting family does tend to be more nervewracking....so i was off at 10....did some gym to distract me...showered...and i was ready....and you know what....meeting them went well....of course i had what i always have for lunch up there (man...sounds like i go there all the time..well i don't...but...) which is the chopped salad and the swordfish...and like always it was divine...and yes...some bubbly....

During the next week we had a couple of dinners with the family...and i loved getting to know them....they have 2 little boys...one is 4, Rick and the other one is 12, Rasmus....and Rasmus speaks very well English which helped a lot...so, what dinners did we do.....from Jasmine (sushi as starters and then i had scallops for mains), flavours great..but the scallops were the mini ones...and the big ones are just so much better...oh well...we also did a Moderno (the Brazilian, of course where i love the buffet and like i mentioned, fillet, sirloin and picania and the caramalized pineapple)..also a Papas (and yes....carpaccio and this time i tried the salmon....and yes...tiramisu.....love the presentation......).....and last but def NOT least we did pizza in the room...yes...my favourite...pepperoni...so damn good....like i said it is not a thin base pizza...but it is damn amazing...maybe i was just craving it, but i dont think so.....and let me share some pics now....first one is at Moderno (with kim and rasmus), next is pizza take aways (the top one is pepperoni, the one underneath was ham, pineapple and mushrooms), then is Rick at Papas with his Pizza and last one...my favourite desser.....Tiramisu..and you know..it is exellento....almost as good as mine..hahaha

And yes....there was always bubbly accompanying our meals...found someone that loves bubbly like i do....kims sister, Katja.....we also managed to meet them outside once in Dubrovnik, managed to take Rasmus to MT Etna, managed a coffee and an ice cream in the Naples terminal and yes, managed to get ourt with a friend in Koper...so all in all..the only port i couldnt do anything was Split...main reason....we were tendering and i only had a three hr break..and when we tender..that is not enough time...oh well...next contract we come back...so ill survive...hahaha.....so let me share Dubrovnik outing with you today...as kim and i arrived in the old town....guess who spotted the ice cream parlour and of course we had to try....amareno and pistaccio...unfortunately the pistaccio wasnt the fresh pistaccio, but it was flavoured pistaccio...what a pity...damn....so it was ok...but nothing to rave about and in all honesty...next time we try a different ice cream parlour....here a pic

A stroll through the streets...i just think Dubrovnik is so pretty...looking at some shops..tasting some local goodies at the market (they are famous for sweetend figs, sugar coated orange rind and caramalized almonds), yummie....and then looking at the jewelery....Dubrovnik is famous for a turquoise stone and the jewelery was divine...and i got spoilt...kim bought me a silver bracelet with a lizard design and a turquoise stone...ill take a pic and then ill load it...it is amazing...so spoilt....here some pics from from the strolling around...

Then we met the family at a quaint little restaurant for some drinks...and snacks....we shared the octopus salad...i love it...but in all honesty...was a little small...and i miss the real olive oil..in dubrovnik they serve normal oil at the table and the red vinegar and that is not my absoloute faourite...but the salad...as i said...absoloutely great..could have been bigger....and the company was nice and kim got to enjoy his cigar...a successful outing i would say.....

So...next will be our venture to see Mt Etna...so cheers from me....
