Hong kong 2

So....this blog will go through the next 5 highlights....

Number 6: Armani Prive Bar....cocktails on the rooftop....the main reason i loved this..the atmosphere....again, cocktails are a little pricey, but the vibe, sitting on the rooftop, so worth it....can be found when you walk on the bridge towards the Star Ferry on the Central side, in the Chater House, i again had a champagne based cocktail, French 75 and it tasted fab....really great place...again, you get served some snacks such as nuts and chips....definitely worth a visit

Number 7: taking a tram to Victoria Peak...now this we did not do this time, we have done this the last time...and once done and unless fab weather, not worth it, cause you go up there for the view, there is also a large shopping mall and restaurants up there, so you can make it a whole day outing...also....bear in mind...there might be a que to go up to the peak (to take the tram)...here is a website that will help you plan your day a little.....

Number 8: Lamma island with seafood.....firstly....here is the timetable for the ferries, they go every 30min or so and it takes about 40min to get there, costs about $16 Hong Kong dollars (one way)....

Once you get there you arrive at a small fishing village, very pretty, my recommendation....to the trail which takes you from the one ferry stop to the other....amazing walk....calculate about 2hrs...and thats a slow stroll.....its hot and lots of up hill so wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen....you walk past the temple, a lookout point...really great...here some pics

When we reached the other side there were numerous seafood restaurants, all showing off their freshly prepared seafood....and we sat down at one called

And the food was fab....we had prawns garlic butter and giant scallops.....those were wow...never tasted anything like it..roasted and steamed garlic, butter, topped with springonions and glass noodles....amazing...so in my opinion...Lamma Island is definitely worth visiting....loved the hike, scenery and of course the seafood....

Number 9: Under the Bridge crab....so this was also last time....if you love to get your hands messy and if you love garlic, then this is a must visit....order a large crab for two people and order it garlic....its messy...you get your tongs and all to open the crab, but so much fun, and so tasty....let me give you the link....

So the one to order is the garlic crab, not the under the bridge spicy crab...enjoy....go hungry

Number 10: Nightmarket with eating local food.....so the most famous Nightmarket is on the Kowloon side, if you walk from the ferries, it is about 25min, strolling....easy to find....the street name is Temple street.....best to go around 6pm, stroll around a little and then def grab something to eat......the place we loved and my sister had recommended to me was called

The market has some clothes, definitely not comparable to Thailand markets, it has souvenirs such as really nice tea and noodle soup sets, handmade leather scrap books, electronics, CDs etc.....but i think after an hour or so you want some food....then just look at the picture menu and order, definitely recommend the deep fried noodles with chicken, veggie springrolls and the prawns with melon

And also the skewered prawns with garlic fab....reminded me a little of the garlic crab in the under the bridge restaurant....bring some santitizing wet cloths cause man your hands get dirty...hahaha

And not to forget the 1000 year old egg, so its not 1000 years old per say....but....there are two types...one has been buried for a couple of weeks...in that one the yellow is hard and is still yellow, you still need to boil egg in order to make the white hard....and the other one is buried many months even years....and that yellow is solid black, but again egg needs to be cooked so white is hard...that's the one we tasted...actually not much different to a normal egg, normally used in soups...we just ate as is...here is a pic...oh yes...and it is also best eaten with pickled ginger...which as you can see below, is what we did.....

So....this is my Hong Kong top 10.....my next blog will be on various coffee shops....so hopefully that will interest you...from Bangkok, Phillipines and Hong Kong...for now...cheers....
