Rheinfalls

So after Italy, Kim and i flew fo Zurich and travelled to Radolfzell, in Germany where my Oma lives. My mom was also meeting us there and we would be staying there for 5 days. Kim and my plan was to do something every day, cause he has never seen this part of the world, so the plan was half day to venture out and see something and half day spend with Oma. This is what Oma prefers anyway cause she has cancer and wants to relax a lot and needs her rest time.....for her it was just such exciting news that she finally gets to meet Kim.

Our first venture was to go the Rheinfalls in Switzerland and then to visit the little village called Stein am Rhein cause i find that village beautiful, really picturesque.....we left early in the morning and it took us 40min from Radolfzell to reach the Rheinfalls. There are two sides to view them, the one side is for free (i have been on that side before) and the other side cost us SFr 5.00, we decided to take that side cause we thought it might give us a better view....and it definitely did....the parking was rather high up and then there was a path that slowly walked us down the Rhinefalls.....view points all along....at some stage we were so close that the water splashed us....what a beautiful sight, truely worth a visit....even Kim was speechless...currently the Rhine has a lot of water which of course also makes a hell of a difference....

So let me also give you some factual points about the river Rhein....the Rhein is 1320km long and it touches 6 countries....Switzlerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, France and the Netherlands. Immediately after Basel (in Switzerland) the Rhine develops into a voluminous river. Just after the Netherlands border, the delta begins, branching out into numerous tributaries and flowing into the North Sea in Rotterdam.

So really...we enjoyed seeing it...worth a visit...on the way back we stopped at Stein am Rhein, as mentioned above, small picturesque village....as we entered through the gates into the old town, no cars allowed.....guess what i spotted....

Schoggibox
A shop with over 300 types of Swiss choc....heaven...of course I had to go inside and explore...and yes, of course we did not leave empty handed. My Oma also loves Swiss choc, so we bought her some also....heavenly.....we walked through the village explored some of the shops but mainly took in the scenery...let me share some pics....
