Jerusalem 2

So....as promised after lunch we went further....time to go see the place where the last supper was....of course passing by the statue of David....and my ignorance i had to ask the guide about who David was...and he said to me...the most important king......ah.....at least im learning....and at least i had the courage to ask...actually i made kim ask....hmmmm.....the room of the last supper....another unbelievable thing to see....it just seems very surreal.....amazing though.....here history to the last supper room....

then time to walk through the Jewish quater towards the Wailing wall.....of course the Jewish are famous for their baking....so we had to stop at a bakery....kim and i got 4 pastries...thinki we gonna take them back to the ship...whatever....first we said ets just have one...then just one more...in the end all 4 were gone as fast as we bought them....here is a pic.....from far left.....pastry....soft, not floury at all stuffed with figs and nuts..then a drued fruit slice...then an apple crumbky, flaky pastry and last one a nut and chocolate croissant.....the best.....the swiss role...which is the oneonnthe far left.....

The Jewish quater was full of bakeries....i could have gone and bought so many things....so yummy....here is another pic....me being a slight pig.....

Then....off to the wailing wall...interesting....men and women are seperated.....so women have the section on the left andnit is much small, while the men are on the right.....the three of us went it and of course we wanted to write a note...but somehow we forgot pen and paper....so i took the paper bag in which the pastries were and we found a pen...all three of us wrote and placed the note individually into the wall...make a wish and then step backwards.....of course i cannot share the wish with u....but i truely do hope it does come true.....here are some pics.....

So now....we have seen the christan and jewish part...time for the muslim part....that was walking through a gian bazar....holding tight onto my handbag....and of course we found another interesting food stall...and of course we had to buy again.....here is a pic....first pic is of the insides of a lamb....thought id share...maybe overshare....oh well...tough luck...i had to see....so i make sure im not the only one....hahaha....second pic is a sweet type...they slice it like a loaf of bread..the one we chose has three layers...layer of compressed sesame seeds with honey at the bottom....middle layer coconut seeds and top...caramalized peanuts....yes...and of course that is the reason i wanted to try it...but wasnt as good as it looked....liked the other food we had falaffel ball, Jerusalem mix with hummous and pastries much better.......

Kim also saw a juice machine...and fell in love....and i must admit.....it is cool....a mission to buy it...cause barter not always easy....and if they are in a bad mood its not fun....so from the first stall we walked off....then regretting it.....so we found another stall and of course there we got it...and not to forget...fsh pommegranate....to actually make fresh juice back on the ship....and yes....we have used it....made a hell of a mess...so the second time we did it....we pressed the juice in the shower...how clever.....if i may say so myself....hahaha.....here is a pic with the pommegranate.....

Now...here is also a pic of all of us together....in the middle is paul and pamela....the couple that kim is friends with and who i have grown very fond of.....

Last stop before home....some coffee...and believe it or not the pace was an Elvis place....all souvenirs were maked with Elvis....playing Elvis music....the day could not have ended better....coffee from an Elvis mug which u got to keep.....Kim and Paul singing....it was a truely special day....damn....im getting a little soppy....but every now and again....yes....it is allowed.....here is a pic of me and pamela holding the men's cigars....i think we look quite good chatting to Elvis there....
Then time for the ride back...and trust me...as soon as dust started to come i passed out in the back...finito....and i knew i had ti work 4 hrs upon returning....so sleeping on the way back....def the way to go....what an amazing day.....now u may count how many times i have used the word amazing in the past two blogs.....but it really was.....cheerio.....
