Jerusalem......

Well....yes....we had some ports in between....limassol and haifa day one....yes from that sentence u might be able to understand that ashdod was cancelled again and the ship stayed in port in haifa overnight....for crew much better anyway....cause in Haifa so much more to do.....train station right there....food places walking distance...ashdod have to take shuttle bus to port gätes....then taxi to somewhere...mission and costly....so before i talk about my day off....my amazing day off....i can tell u about our dinner.....and nope...we did not go to le bistro....u prob wondering whether im sick...and no...no fever...just felt like some good meat....the fillet theree...and the sirloin with garlic marinade....and the roasted pineapple...amazing....best part at the moment...speciaity restaurants are quite empty....so when u go to moderno.....u can choose from all the meats and u dont have to go in order.....so sausages we skipped...then went for chicken leg marinated in lemon and garlic....kims choice...then the two beef.....fillet and sirloin and then some lamb and more fillet for me....and of course the pineapple....the other thing i love abot moderno.....the starter buffet...which we took with our mains....from carprese, to roasted mushrooms, peppers and aubergines to cheese selection to dips to salads to steamed asparagus with parma ham....you name...i was so in my element......yummy.....so that was Antalya night.....now off to talking about my day in Jerusalem....my amazing day...and yes....im prob gonna say it again....

So we left the ship around 6:30....we ended up going on a very private tour...kim has some friends, a couple, staying in the garden villa and they asked whether we wanted to join them and his brother and wife on a private tour to Jerusalem....of course.....so off we went the 6 of us with a guide....the drive there wasabout 2.5hrs...but i must admit it went very fast....when we arrived there we went to mount Scopus where there is the geological seperation between dessert and grass....and from up there you can see as far as the dead sea....somewhere i still wanna go to....then we drove to mount olive....from there u have a view over the whole of Jerusalem....the guide explained and pointed out the most important sites....amazing...here is a pic....

Then a short walk to mount olive church.....and there...infront of church...were olivevtrees dating back many many many years...amazing...the trunks are so thick and honestly a very beautiful site..church....also beautiful from the columns to the painting.....here are some pics.....

Then...time to enter the old city walls.....first find some parking and then enter through the jaffa gate...but of course kim and i found the local food stall and bought some falaffel ball...very interesting taste....but good interesting.....i think i might have to share a photo......yes....this blog will be lengthy....but so what....been a while....or not...whatever.....i say that because a while is very relative....hahaha.....

First stop....the church where Jesus was cursifixed and the centre of the world stone is.....amazing....when we walked inside we cold actually touch the ground where the cross stood.....and then we saw the ointment stone whe Jesus was put after the crusifix.....its truely amazing to actually see the places that u have heard about....read about....and now to actually see them in real life....to be honest i never thought i wod see that.....the guide was also great explaining the architecture and that the coloums with basket shapes come from the byzanine times and the other ones from the roman times....i love those facts cause we all know how much i Like architecture....so....time for some more photos....but i think i wanna give a short description...first photo outside the church....second one....kim touching the ground where crusifix was placed....third....me...touching centre of the world.....fourth.....the architecture....sport the byzanine and roman....back column is byzanine....last pic.....an alter in the church.....amazing...yes....i have used the word again...(if u r bored....count how many times i have used the word amazing....hahaha)

Next was a walk through the Christan section of Jerusalem...there is also the Jewish and Muslim sections.....with some explanations of the architecture....and then time for lunch...we all wanted a typical local spot....in the sun where Kim and Paul cold smoke.....so we chose a very typical spot....and man....way way good....kim and i both had the hummous with Jerusalem mix meat and a small side salad of course served with fresh pita bread....and man....never had such fouffy pita bread....truely wow......here is a pic of the place as well as the food....never to forget food...but then again we are talking about me...so u all know i dont forget....and im also gonna add a favourite pic....
Time to move on.....BUT....i dont wanna give u information overload....and u know i just thought about it...the is a hell of a lot more coming....so im gonna leave and love you.....maybe just leave u....hahah....and let u digest what i have written and i promise the second part will follow soon......hmmmmm......cheers from my side...at the moment we are at sea....im about to go to sleep...early start tomorrow....6am....garden cafe duty and it is 23:30 now....better have some strong coffee or it might be a looooooong morning.....ok goodnite.....
