Water prac and Izmir
So....finally wet drill or wet practical, sbasic safety, can be ticked off and called done....yay.....so so happy.....but i must admit it was fun. So we went to the guest pool area, they had closed it off for us, we had to put on life jackets and there was a life raft in the boat......first we had to jump into the pool the correct way, which is:
1. Look down to see that the water below is clear
2. Grab onto your lifejacket toghtly
3. Look straight ahead to the horizon, this ensures neck is straight
4. Take one large step forward
5. Move feet together
All this had to be done then we jumped, i was just praying that the pool would be warm....and it was like a bath...so happy about that, then we had to swim in a group and board the liferaft....was fun...after that we each had to turn the liferaft from upside down into correct position, which means u have to get onto liferaft and lesn back, you will fall with your back into water and liferaft will be on top of you and then you swim out from below....gard to explain...hope you understand what i am trying to get at....haha......so now i just one more module personal protective equipment, then the exam.......pass rate is 80%......
yesterday was izmir.....fun times......we had a crew drill at 10 so three of us decided to get off the ship at 8 and be back before the drill....off we went at 8 and found a cool little breakfast spot in the cent of Izmir....of course we had to try local food....so we had savoury and sweet goodies, they included spinach pastry criossant, chocolate, aubergine tart and some dried fruit goodie.....was so yummy and so worth going out for....here are sme pics......
After the crew drill, 11am, we had the hotel meeting, which as you might remember occurs once a month....so that lasted 25min, then oh i realised something....i only had training at 13:00.... So maybe i have time to get out for some real Turkish lunch.....hehe....i really make the most of all my time that i can go outside.....cause trust me that is what gets me through the real though times i face on the ship, which i actually dont talk about in my blog cause i dont wanna talk about negativity.....i just try see the positive things in life.....so off i went at 11:30....no joke.....found a little typical Turkish place and we decided to oder a couple of different things....i was told by a friend, who is half Turkish and half German, to try the typical Turkish pizza...which is very much not like Italian pizza...just flat bread with meat, and served with tomato and lemon....called Lahmacun...man it was so yummy....and it came with this yoghurt drink called Ayran...so bloddy fab....we also ordered a salad which had Russian salad, aubergine salad, corn and olive salad, red pepper salad tzatiki on it...great...and lastly we ordered some sliced cooked beef which came with flat bread and arsely and onion salad.....i loved the food...the best was the pizza...will def go back for that.....and on the table...they like their hot food, was dried chillie and fresh chillie in vinegar, almost died when i ate one just popping it into my mouth....So i added a pic of the chillies, the pizza and the beef...and off course the little restaurant which we ate at.....yum yum.....Now i am off to dinner...in my next blog ill tell you about my last module and how we went onto the bridge (which is from where the ship gets steered and where the captain is) and ill show some more pics of beautiful Split....and off course my Exam......cheers for now......
