Venice


So...had a really shit afternoon yesterday and this morning....so i really needed a good 4 hrs out in Venice....i really really needed it....so when i saw it was raining at 10:30, 30min before i was off i was not so happy....but never mind...make the best of the situation i thought....but somehow the weather was on my side and decided to be nice to me...i was off and it was actually warm....yay.....so off we went at 10:40....and i had a really good 3hrs out...my head not thinking about anything.....what did we do......


We started walking and stopped at a supermarket to buy some water and fresh olives, man i have never seen such olives, the colour and the taste...so good...so fresh....i thought they would be bitter when i looked at the colour....but they were far from it...here is a pic....

After that we continued our walk towards Rialto.....but again....you know me...i saw this cool little restaurant, that just said to me...come inside and look at my buffet...was 11:30 by now....so yes, i was hungry....and the buffet consisted of all deep fried goodies, normally im not a fan, but those just looked so inviting...so we decided to get some artichokes and then a mixed platter of all the deep fried goodies, from zuccini flower stuffed with cheese, to sage leaves, to olives....was amazing...and to top it off....a glass of prosecco....the little place was so cool, the wine bottles were so old all covered in dust...just loved it...and just on a little side street....very cool.....here is a some pics

After that we walked further, past Rialto towards St Marks square...and it just was so nice, i love being in Venice and just looking at the buildings and architecture...so so cool....Then it was time to walk towards the ship, on the way back we discovered this little place that you could buy wine and it would be poured into your own bottle...so we decided to buy one litre, cause you have to buy at least 1l, and fill it into our water bottles...what the hell.....we of course asked to taste some, just so we knew what we were buying...then we decided on the Pinot Grigio.....very light.....here is a pic of the little place...the dude selling us the wine was so friendly and a lot of fun...haha....Here is a pic of the little wine place.....

Continuing our walk.....suddenly i realised i i had been to this side street 3 years ago...now this was strange, of course Rialto and St Marks square i was there...but this little side alley i never thought i would find it again...and it brought back so many happy memories....and then i crossed the bridge just to go see the place that we had apperitifos at...still looks the same, 3years later....just love it....of course i had to take a pic of the place we had apperitifos at and also of some architecture just around there...just for memories....

Now it was really time to get back...one last stop...pizza take away and we were done.....i started work at 14:30 and we were back at 14:00.... Good going..Chilled early afternoon out.....back to work...6hrs and then i would be done for the day.....yay for me....after work i went to Garden cafe to have some dinner, then my bed looked like a good option...however...somehow i couldnt fall asleep...too many thoughts.....so read my book.....Hunger Games for quite some time....now we are starting the Greek Island run again...tomorrow sea day though...you know how much i love those.....cheers.....here is a pic of the pizza place and Venice

Wedding time.....my baby sister's wedding

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
