End of second Greek island run
So....after Corfu i really wanted to publish my blog....never happened...internet on the ship has been so bad, but really so bad.....and outside i havent managed to find connection...and sometimes actually no time...actually this run i havent really gone out....i guess its called basic safety.....
So after Corfu was SUPPOSED to be Santorini......oh what a day.....hell.....where to start.....well lets start i was so excited...finally morning shift...i would end at 4 and we only had to be back on the ship at 9pm...so it was celebration...and there were a couple of us all off at the same time....the plan was get out, walk up NOT the cable car, find a cool spot, eat Greek tapas and drink Greek wine....who would have ever imagined not being able to tender, anchor, because of safety reasons.....NO-ONE......so guess what when rumours started that it is way too windy and that it would be dangerous to anchor...so it would turn into a sea day....what the hell....that is so wrong.....on every level....i understand...but so disappointing......so honestly you did not wanna be me when the announcement went to the guests....i felt sorry for me.....we got lines and lines of people at the desk, saying the captain is lying, who does the captain think he is to take a decision on behalf of 2500 guests (how stupid are these guests), also ppl saying that they only came on the cruise because of Santorini (oh well then they should have ONLY gone to Santorini) and people saying they felt inprisoned, it actually got quite funny.....oh well Santorini was great, haha...that night we had a girls night with a movie that was played in Santorini.....so we got some of it....but man it made me jealous...and next time im afternoon shift...so i dont think ill be able to get out...so so sad....
Next day was Mykonos......had safety training, so i had 1.5hr break.....i ran out with Julia just to grab a good cappucino...so worth it...cause was amazing....again....MYkonos.....and the little taverna made me feel so relaxed.....i was so glad i managed to get out, even though it was short....here are two pics......dont you just get jealous.....

So safety training actually turned out fine because i had a chilled time out, even though it was short....this time it was first aid....i had alady had theory so Mykonos was practical and Exam...i passed...and actually very well....so yay for me....one down.....1 very large one to go.....next training will be fire fighting.....actually doing a practical and all with total gear and oxygen tanks....im actually excited for that......now off to telling you about Katakolon.....i had off from 11 until 4pm...great...that would give me time to go to Olympia (which is where the Olympic games originate)....i managed to drag Dina with me...reason i say dragged is because she had worked the whole night and now she was gonna come with me...but i said it is something you need to have seen...or u will regret...and then she decided to come.....so we took the bus...€5, that is nothing....it would take us 30min......we got dropped off right at the archelogical site...and it was so worth going there....the entire site is surrounded by nature...and you just think, just under 3000 years ago they started there...at that exact place...the ruins are in good condition and when we saw the stadium Dina and i just got this childish feeling if wanting to run across it....and guess what we did it...we even filmed ourselves running...we had such a blast...and when the weather started to improve it was even more amazing....man it was so much fun.....we loved it....here is some pics
Dina and i decided after visiting the ancient site to stroll the little village for a little bit...we tasted olive oils....never had olive oil that tasted so fab...home-made and very cheap....so of course i tried olive oil with fsh bread, some Ouzo, Grappa and some nuts...in the end i ended up buying the olive oil.....i was so excited about my purchase....what a cool day....having to work 5 hrs at 4pm....who cares.....i def didnt.....here is a pic of the little store i bought the olive oil at.....
Did i go to speciality restaurants this cruise...yes...twice actually.....once Sushi.....had a new role.....im getting there with trying them all.....and then the hightlight...decided to go to the Italian, Papas, again...just because it is good food and the price is ally decent.....this time...boring old me had the carprese again, cause i loved it last time, i also had the crumbed calamri rings, very good but not very Italian.....but good.....mains i had saltimboca, made with pork not veal though, and it came with gnocci....was good...not the most amazing wow....but was good....i would have prefered a little more sage, cause the pieces of pork were quite large and the sage was tiny....but good anyway.....and dessert this time....tiramisu....good but not comarable to my own at all.....i def have had better....but good.....the Chianti red wine was very good though....it came in a caraf and was very enjoyable......i will go back...oh yes i forgot...we also all shared the marinara pasta (seafood pasta), very nice....so like i said ill be back......today back in Venice and im gonna publish my blog right now....so yes, today i published two...and old one and this up to date, recent one....off to find some fsh mozzarella now...yum yum...then work for 5.5 hrs...my poor feet.....i finish at 7 though, so not too bad....cheers.....
Ps. Here is a sunset from one of the nights we ate in the Garden cafe
