Dubrovnik encore

So....of course let's start with wot has been happening....actually quite a bit....so this might be a lengthy one....so you better have time..or close it and read when u have time...rushing is no fun....haha.....

So ill give u a quick run down wot im gonna write about...i think im doing it more for me...cause i think i might forget otherwise...recap of Venice, Jasmine dinner, passport revolution, Dubrovnik and girls nite at a guest cabin (specifially, a mini-suite)....sound interesting...then carry on reading.....

So Saturday Venice was ok...the only reason was cause we struggled to get off the ship, they forgot to open the gangway for crew so we had to wait until 930 until all guests had left (gone home), mission and a half....finally out it was then a little rushed, i had a great cappucino and chocolate croissant (yes croissant not cornetti), so although i didnt have much time out, the time i did have was fun......just miss the fact that i didnt find a little bit of mozarella to munch......here is a pic of the good cappucino though....

So.....that night a whole bunch of us decided to go eat at Jasmine, the Asian restaurant, for the first time 6/6 we were all off at the same time....now that really doesnt happen, we decided to grab the opportunity....unfortunately all in uniform as some just came off duty and some had to go straight afterwards, we had from 6pm to 8pm..... The food was fab.....so i had 2 starters.....prawn spring rolls and lightly battered salt and pepper calamari.....great stuff.....then i had the Cantonese style scallops and then for dessert the three mini creme brulee (dont remember whether i said, its a bean one (azir), a green tea and ginger), all other people ordered amazing stuff too..i managed to try some of them....i have added some photos of mine just to make u guys hungry...actually looking at them again makes me very hungry....and today is sea day and i work 1730 until 2100, so i have to go to staff mess...that is so unfortunate....will let you know how it was.......(so i went and it was shocking, had some pasta, overcooked, salad, fine and very very overcooked battered fish.....there was no other choice, lamb or wierd looking stuffed beef....yummy).....

Now.....here is an interesting story.....yesterday we arrived in Dubrovnik at 1400.... And the Croatians are very complicated, all non EU members had to hand in passports because in order to clear the ship with the authority original passports are needed...but the biggest problem was, when the passengers went ashore they needed original passport as well or drivers license.....however...some idiot made the wrong announcement and said EVERYONE HAS TO HAVE ORIGINAL PASSPORTS....ID is NOT good enough....so of course at 1400 everyone wants to leave ship...chaos a reception...now if the passports would have been ordered it would have not been a problem, but because they were needed to clear the ship, they were in no order....so it took us years to find each passport...passengers started to get so pissed off that they started to clap in union and bang on receptin desk saying, in union, service, service, service....man i thought i was not hearing properly....what a joke.....at 1510....we were finally done...what made me angry is that no one corrected the announement....they just though "Lets leave it, we will correct next time", what a joke.....at 1515 i ran out cause i was supposed to be off at 1500 and the shuttle bus only goes ever hour always at 30min past...so you can imagine..i rushed....cause my next shift started at 1830...no way to walk....would take about 40min....i made it...yay for me....i met up with Dina and we decided to spend the 10Euros and go up the wall.....it was so worth it...the view was fab.....we walked the entire wall..normally it akes about 40min, we spend about 1.5hrs cause Dina is an amazing photogsher so i said youbjust take all the pics and share with me....i did not regret my decision at all...here are some....was very hard to choose them...cause she took about 50.... No exaggeration......

After the wall we decided to have some dinner.....we tried to find some side restaurant, not full of tourists and not serving just pizza and lasagna (you wont belive how many restaurant just serve pizza, salad and lasagna)..... We found one....each had some small bottle of wine and then an octopus salad and seafood pasta....very good...im in love with the octopus salad...wasnt cheap...but worth it...the wine was 3 Euros and the octopus salad 8Euros and the pasta also 8Euros...well worth it though....yummy....

The shift...went by very quick....cause i was looking forward to spending a girls nite in a mini-suite. (Julia won this prize and got a night in a guest mini-suite and $200). Dina had nite shift so it was Anastasia, Julia, Marnie and me.....some more people joined us for drinks and room service and then left us....we had an awesone nite...ordered room service, burgers, fruits, cookies and New York cheese cake, had wine and ended up going to bed at 2.....in the morning we ordered breakfasts in bed at 630 cause 3 of us started at 730..... Wot a cool night....and the sunrise in the mornig..wow...the best part was sleeping in a abin, in a proper bed, with the door open, hearing the ocean the entir night and having fresh air.....man small things can make you happy.....great fun...these all the small joys that get you through the terrible guests......

As i mentioned, today was sea day and tomorrow is Athens and then Izmir....not sure whether i can go out cause my basic safety training starts which is fireman (practical), first aid and wet drill (life saving in the pool), theRe are 8 modules and each takes 4 to 5hrs.....hmmmm....still hopeing they will schedule taining during work hrs.....it wil be a very good qualification to have....there is a lot of nationalities that have to pay for all three courses before being allowed to work on the ship and it costs $1000..... Heavy.......so i should not complain......but i stil wanna go out.....i just reall wanna see the Acropolis....and one guy knows how to get there by train, 2Euros, instead of taxi 20Euros....so let me be off...just for a little...hAhA....will keep you posted.......
