Le Bistro

So....as i mentioned i really wanted to try out Le Bistro, the French restaurant, and finally i managed. The cover charge there was a little higher, $20, but well worth it, the starters ranged from scallops to snails to soups to croquettes, while mains included rack of lamb, fillet, salmon, coq au vin and duck and desserts included chocolate napoleon (aka mille feuille), creme brullee and sorbet...as stated...that was not all..that is just what i remember.....and dinner was so good...loved it....but it's def a place where you go in smaller groups and not 6 of you......so of course i took pics...just to have a memory of the good food.....we also had Proseco which was great....very very good......so first we got some pate, 4 different types of bread and butter.....this was followed by our starters.....mine was the scallops (i love scallops so of course I had them but the snails and the croquettes really tempted me), mains i had yes....i think many can guess....the salmon which came with a morel sauce (that is a very expensive mushroom, for those who dont know, hehe) and dessert....well def the vanilla creme brullee......i must say the food was fab...im def going back there.....loved it.....yummy....so here are some pics....

And now...... having told you about my highlight.....ill tell you a little about some other stuff that has been happening....Venice was very chilled.....went out with 2 girlfriends and we just roamed the streets....found some good cappucino and internet and then Julia and I had to go back (Dina is nightshift, so of course her whole day is free...other than having to sleep or otherwise die of exhaustion)..... Julia and i wanted some lunch so we went into a local cheese shop, bought fresh mozzarella and asked the guy to slice it for us, was amazing, what i loved was how they made that mozzarella, it was not just a ball of mozzarella but rather a twisty.....think of a cloth that has water in it and you need to get water out, you twist it...that is how they make the real mozzarella twisted like that and then a knot in the ends.....so when he sliced it, it looked so cool.....then we went into a local supermarket and bought a large pack of parma ham....our lunch was fab....then off to work....as you know embarkation is a hectic day.....but i honestly did not feel it cause had a good 3 hrs out with the girls.....

Sea day was crap.....we planned on going to the sun deck which did not happen cause there was no sun and it was quite chilli and very windy....im exhausted so i actually decided to take a power nap, that felt so good and at least i managed to get through my second shift.....night time, Julia and I looked at the food in the mess...thought we were gonna die and ended up going for Sushi.....i tried a new roll, the rainbow roll, which is not like in South Africa, salmon and avo, this one is avo with shrimp, then avo with tuna and then avo with salmon....and caviar on top of each....very good....but the red hokaido roll, the one with scallops, that is my fav so far....now i have tried 4. Next time i must try the Yellowtail tuna sashimi once......def going back, haha.....

The Swiss tour operator, Ruedi, is back on board and he came to the desk straight away, greeted me and gave me a whole box of different chocolates.....lindt balls, small individual chocs and ragusa.....so so nice.....next week Michael, the other tour operator is coming and apparently he is bringing me choc that my gran in Switzerland dropped off...i found out that the Travel agent is in the same village as my gran.....wot are the chances.....hehe....Ruedi was gonna bring it, but he had already left.....oh well...spreading it out is better anyway......

Today was Corfu....i ran out cause i needed internet desperately to get my skype to work....its been down and as you know i cannot sign in on board...so was such a joke this past week, i had 1 hr off, and it was 20min walk from ship to the immigration terminal....man i never rushed so much, once outisde i found a cool little place with some free wifi.....but of course i had to have a cappucino, yum yum....when wanting to pay i only had €100, the woman looked at me and said, you are joking haha.....its just €2.5, haha...so i said im really sorry i have nothing smaller, so she smiled and said dont worry about it....its on me.....i apologized so much cause i felt bad, and she was so warm and friendly and said no need to apologize....just enjoy......so sweet......i was rushed cause i had basic safety training....was theory for first aid....tomorrow when we are in Santorini i have practical first aid and exam for first aid....wot a joke....i really wanna get out...hope i can make a plan.....hold thumbs......so...this is the second blog that i am publishing today....the only reason is cause it took forever to publish the last one due to me not having internet connection, and thus not being to upload photos and of course publish....maybe today it will work....now im off for a girls movie nite....managed to rent some very old DVDs....but its all about having some fun.....goodnite.....
