A taster of Barcelona

So...finally im in Barcelona...this just means..the 2 months have passed very fast...im refering to the fact that 2 months ago i was told i had a job as a guest relations associate on the Norwegian Jade.....i will start this Thursday...so of course i came to Barcelona a little before to explore it....what a great city....buildings...food...well i cant say anything about shops because the 2 public holidays ensured the shops would be closed.....So yesterday i walked to the 2 famous Gaudi buildings Sagrada Familia and Casa Battlo.....wow....the outside of both of them took my breAth away....in the evening i actually went back to Casa Battlo to take a picture at night....and guess what...im loving my camera...pics are amazing...so here are the two buildings.....as u might know Sagrada Familia Is a roman catholic church and Designed by Gaudi, but never completed....Amazingly it is under constant renovations...and interestingly, both Sagrada Familia and Casa Battlo are UNESCO world heritage sites...so here are the pics....

Last nite, I went to a restaurant which only serves Tapas...so much fun..... I had 5 different ones..... From Catalonian sausage tartar to deep fried cod ball to chillies with anchovy....yum yum.... The funniest was when i asked for a glass of red wine and it came in this funny glass..... Strange..... See pics below... For breakfast this morning i had a mini baguette, so crispy, with famous spanish jam.... Known as Iberian jam, very fatty but def good...

So this leaves me with what i did today, i walked and walked and walked some more..... Did see things along the way though, haha.... Walked to the parc guell, designed by yes, u guessed correctly, Gaudi, very nice, see first pic below... But what impressed me most was the inside of Casa Battlo, it cost 18 Euros to get in, but def def worth it... I was glad an audio guide was included as i learnt so much.... I took so many pics... Did u know there are no straight lines in the building, and the chimney has 2 benches either side of it, one larger than the other cause they
Were designed for husband and wife.... And the hallway tiles go from light blue, at the bottom, to dark blue...I struggled deciding which pics to post, here are my decsions....

So now im off to find a spot for dinner... Chat soon...
