Koper & Venice

So, yesterday was Koper, again my luck of the draw, i had 2hrs from 8 until 10 cause at 10:15 i had to be at work. So, first obstacle was to get off from the ship and why was that an obstacle because it took very long in customs to clear the ship, when it was finally cleared it was a mission cause everyone had to show original Passport... Now that was another mission for some of my friends.... Why?

When you arrive on the ship, they take away your passport so that you cant just escape and to get your passport you can only go with a signed letter from management etc etc etc, so lucky me, i handed in my Swiss passport and exited with my American passport, no problemo for me.

Koper was very tiny, but very cute at the same time, again the architecture is what i loved so much, the houses looked like they were falling apart but i guess that is the whole character. Of course we decided we have to try the cappucino....verdict.... Very nice.... Such strong coffee and foam was ok....... Still not like home.... Maybe Italy.... Rome managed lets see if Venice manages......i have added some pics from Koper.... The 2 hrs were actually enough, so good for me, the people that had off 10 until 13:00 actually didnt make it out cause the guest que was too long and like we all know.... Guests before crew.....

Then the next day was Venice. So i was on shift at 11:30, but that def didnt stop me. Dina was on shift from 5am until 8am so we decided to go together and we were actually lucky, Radu, a guy who works with us who knows Venice really well decided to take us, that was perfect cause St Marks square was quite a distance to walk, and in Venice it is easy to get lost. Wot an amazing morning.... First we had to walk about 15min to get away from the harbour, but once we reached the small side streets i was just in heaven again, i just love Italy, and it was great to see Dina's face cause this was the first time she saw it, and honestly nothing like the first time you see Venice.... We roamed the streets towards Rialto bridge, of course we stopped for cappucino and Italian cake (i forgot the name, it looks like a piece of bread but it is sweet and has raisins in it, there is a pic at the end... Wow) after some energy boost, we speeded towards Rialto bridge, on the way stopping to buy some fesh mozzarella and eating it in the side street, wow.... And so cheap, and def a different taste....then Rialto bridge and yes, i have seen it before but the Grand Canal and the bridge is still amazing, i know im using this amazing word a lot but it really is..... Then we decided we do have time to go to St Marks square and off we roamed some further, honestly thank god for Radu as he knew every little side street, Dina and I would def have gotten lost..... St Marks was good, but it is not my fav place, although when you look at the details from the church, the architecture and art, it is wow. Then we strolled back.... Through different side streets, we looked at the architecture and then we had some ice cream, yes, one could say we were pigs, haha. But def worth it! Then slowly back, and then i honestly didnt care that i had to work for 9 hrs, the outing was def worth it, loved it... So happy this wasnt the last time in Venice, this is now our home port so Venice, i will see you soon....

Ps. Cappucino was really good, nice and strong and good foam

So off to Sushi now, gonna try one of the other speciality rolls, cannot wait and then its work until 11, not too bad, i think ill manage, haha...... And then tomorrow we are in Corfu, but i dont think ill manage to get out.....
