Amordivino- Asciano

You might remember...i have written about this little gem before...but i never managed to show kim the first time....so this time...i wanted to show him....

Sunday evening......before making the reservation i did ask whether they would have the big bistecca made on the fire and the answer was "certo" (for sure). As we arrived, the sight of the bistecca just excited me....have a look....(p.s. The bistecca and fire is every night)....

Bistecca
Of course...mains was chosen before we even set foot in our gem...starters....we needed the menu. The wine menu was not needed because we rather looked at the shelves and chose what looked nice. The great thing is that prices are displayed, so they are really not trying to trick you which is nice. Have a look at the shelf....

And the most exciting part of the menu.....the antipasti had changed slighly (i cannot talk about the mains because i did not look at them last time...hahaha).....it almost seemed like a summer menu. We decided we would have some antipasti to share....first a chianina beef tartar with fruit flavours...sounded interesting....and it was beautifully presented...and beautifully cut...it was delicious, fullstop.

We also had a fish starter.....anchovies and another fish (which i am sorry but i am not sure), beautifully presented with 4 different butters. Of course i tried them all, far left, the white with garlic, next was chocolate (believe it ot not), green was parsely and the pink was tomato....interesting idea, and not strong at all. Again...beautifully presented and very delicious.

Last but not least we chose a vegetarian tart, aubergine and courgettes with a dollop of creme frais, on a bernaise/hollondaise sauce....again...very nice....i would chose all three starters again.....
Vegetarian tart
Mains....bistecca...the funny thing is...they do not ask how you would like it cooked and they also do not ask what size you want.....the owner choses the size for you depending/looking at the people at the table...and i must say the first time it was perfetto...we were just hopeing this time would also be.....especially cause we have been raving about this place so much......and wow....it did not disappoint....the bistecca came, beautifully presented...perfectly cooked...and just the right amount.....we were blown-away. We ordered it with some roasted potatos and a tomato salad......have a look....(you might get jealous though).
Bistecca
The great part, you see the owner chop the bistecca in front of you, in fact you see how he places it on the fire and how he cuts it...just amazing....we love this place....and yes...same verdict as last time....we would definitely go back. This time we did not have desserts because Sofia was getting tired so we decided to indulge in dessert at home.....
Thank you for a great night....we will be back...hopefully sooner rather than later. Bye-bye from me.....hope you are getting hungry now...i definitely am.
