Lunch in Arezzo
Another day in paradise....it started off with exploring some motorbike and some bicycle shops for some gear....like jackets, helmets, pants etc.....after that...time to explore Arezzo a little bit...there were 8 and Sofia with us, so we all split a little bit into smaller groups...easier to shop that way...hahaha....kim, sofia and i walked to the main piazza to look at some possibilities for lunch and we did find one that looked amazing and of course it also helped when they mentioned that they had a baby chair for Sofia and of course that they had space outside. Have a squizz at the piazza....
After our reservation, we strolled a little bit around...and guess what....kim saw that they had guiness beer on draft...so guess what....aperitivo time.....
After that...time to meet everyone for lunch....the menu looked very interesting...in fact there were quite a few things i wanted to try and i was really debating....at the end...i opted for the Chianina beef tartar.....mom chose the burrato caprese, Kim and Mutti had the Ossobucco, dad the cinghiale stew, Eva tried the Milanese, Felix the cheeseburger and Verena the salmon pizza...but before our food arrived, amazing bread baskets were put on the table with a potato soup amuse bouche for each....
Now time to share pics of the mains and give you my 50c worth of a comment....
If you do not remember....or you never read my earlier blog....Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. The outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains both mozzarella and cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture.
Ossobucco....so tender, just melted in your mouth, not the traditional sauce, in my opinion, but nevertheless absoloutely amazing
Salmon pizza, again not what you usually expect...but ph my word...it was soo good...even i had to have a whole piece, then i ate Verena's crust cause so delicious...and the salmon superb quality
After our mains....we wee all too full for dessert...some coffees were ordered and then a huge...but i mean huge plate of mini pastries arrived....and yes, we managed to finish them...and then the waiter even brought another small plate....wow...and i guess you can guess...we liked them...there were ones that were like profiterolls, ones like amaretti (hence, like marzipan), ones with short crust and filled with chocolate...so yes...very damn good...now of course you might be asking yourself...what is the name of this restaurant....and.....drumroll.... Ristorante Logge Vasari....and i would DEFINITELY recommend it.....you must try....just wow....so yes, we all had a really great morning and early afternoon spent in Arezzo...after that it was time to go home and enjoy pool time.....it was damn hot.....for now though...goodnight...cheers...we chat soon.....
