Coffee time

Yes...it is time again to write about some more cappuccino experiences.....first off...the little bar in the Trequanda square....its in fact next to the bank, right also where our post is...and where we go to Sofia's pediatrician on a Wednesday...you might say why Wednesday...cause the other days she rotates between Sinalunga and Torrita di Siena....and Wednesday...Trequanda....anyway...back to the point...cappuccino....

Mutti and I visited this little bar....let me share a pic first....

Cappuccino in Trequanda

It was a strong coffee.....the foam was thick....but there could have been more foam...but not too bad all in all....i guess i would go back...why...because to support the locals and also it is very convenient right there on the square...

Next up...coffee in Lucignano by the entrance to the old town called fuori la porta (ouside the gate)...hahaha....again...let me share a pic...

Lucignano cappuccino
The coffee was ok....a bit bitter for me....the foam was ok...definitely could have been thicker and there definitely could have been more foam...so would i go back...nope...i would not go back to have coffee there...if we go to that village again, i would try a different place most definitely.
Next up Pienza....a little place called Enoteca Le Crete....we went there cause we wanted to sit outside and it looked inviting....we found a nice table in the sun...it is near the entrance to the old town....let me share some pics...
Entrance
Cappuccino and pastry
The cappuccino was good...strong...thick foam...yes, for me there could have been more foam...but at least the foam was thick...the pastry was also delicious....it was a short crust dough, filled with apricot jam and walnuts (could have had a few more walnuts). We definitely enjoyed it. In fact, the next day we went back there because we were in Pienza again....the cappuccino was as good....the pastry was as good...BUT....my dad felt like something savoury so he ordered a panini con proscuitto crudo....when it came, it was two slices of bread with the proscuitto...normal Italian style...no butter....this is not unusual...hence he asked for some olive oil and salt...and guess what....they did not have that....i was shocked....i feel that having olive oil should be a standard...i mean....honestly i was disappointed and i am not sure whether i would go back.....
I think i would rather go the cafe/bar/gelateria at the entrance to the old town...the one that has a large terrace (although in the shade) where we have had cappuccino, aperitivo, cold meat & cheese platters, caprese...and we have been impressed with all....you might ask, why did we not go this time...well we thought we wanted to give this cute little place a try and the cappuccino and sweet was good....but the choice of sweets is very limited (only three) and the savoury is not very good...very dry (no problem...but at least have olive oil)...but let me share a pic of this other place in Pienza...coffee is strong, foam is thick (yes, there could be more and yes, there could be chocoolate sprinkles)....but biscuits with apricot jam...very yummie....now pic...
Pienza main cafe/bar
Last but definitely not least...we went in search of a pasticceria in Siena...and we found a few...the one we settled at was near the campo...just above it....and i am sorry...i do not remember the name...yes, i should have looked...but somehow i did not...anyway....the cappuccino was rather expensive....€3.3, but the pastries were delicious....almost a bit too sweet...after we finished them...we were "sweeted" out...no more...hahaha...i guess i would have prefered something a little bit less rich...the cappuccino...strong, but the foam was not thick and there was not enough...so no...i think i would try another pasticceria next time...in fact...i would like to try one that i saw called Nannino....so next time...but for now...let me share a pic...
Siena pasticceria
My favourite was the typical Siena biscuits...the riccardelli, which is an almond biscuit...tastes a little bit like marzipan...second best, the chocolate stuffed roll....the apricot biscuits dough was fabulous also...the pistachio one was too sweet....in other words too rich....but still all yummie to try.
I guess that concludes by blog on more coffee time...next up....let's see...i might tell you about some thermal bath experience which we have had....or maybe about Perugia...let's see what i feel like...for now...goodnight.
