Cortona

Un altro giorno...this time....we decided to go to Cortona....what made us decide to go there...well, i saw some shoes there that i wanted to get...so we decided why not make a lunch out of it...after all, Cortono is about a 40min drive....

Sofia on the way to Cortona

My shoes....the brand is...Nero Giardini....beautiful shoes...i was debating quite a bit...and in the end i chose these...

One can wear them with jeans, a short skirt, shorts....etc etc....anyway....moving on....we of course walked the streets a little bit....through the piazza....

After that....time for lunch....at the entrance to the old town, there is a cute litte enoteca which we have been wanting to try....we all did not want a huge lunch...so an enoteca was the way to go...beautiful day...sit on the terrace on the couches...way to go (couches were the best option cause Sofia could play without us having to worry where she would crawl). Mom and i decided to share the salumi e formaggio plate and have a glass of prosecco while Mutti and dad wanted the ragu lasagna...dad of course with a glass of red wine.....mom and i were a little bit dissappointed cause the menu offered a rose or white prosecco...we chose the rose...only to be told they do not serve that by the glass.....that was very dissappointing.....anyway...moving on....

Vegetable lasagne
What the.....you might be saying...yes, indeed, the menu said meat ragu lasagna and then vegetable lasagne arrived.....and it looked terrible...guess what...Mutti and dad complained and said that the menu says ragu...waitress said...oh yes, ooops, today it is vegetables....well dad and Mutti switched to panini.....and unfortunately it was a rather dry panini....mom and my platter was ok...nothing special.....but all in all...we are definitely not going back....the rose prosecco was the first dissappointment...followed by the lasagne...followed by the bill which was way too expensive (And we got charged for lasagna and NOT panini and then when we said that, we got told it was the same price...whatever...what bullshit....)....so, no....not going back. Funny enough, the enoteca has such a great spot and looks so amazing...but the service and food dissappointed SO MUCH....

Anyway...after that...ice cream time...just around the corner...at Dolce Vita. Mom had caffe, dad amarena, Mutti limone and me, I had caramel...the ice cream was ok...nothing WOW...but Sofia got a balloon and Sofia liked it....so would we go back to the ice-cream spot if we are in Cortona....yes, we would. We would not drive out of our way to eAt ice-cream there...but we would go again..i would try another flavour though cause for me there was way too much vanilla and definitely not enough caramel.....let me share some pics.....

All in all we had a good day...we now know that we should NOT go to that enoteca...but we are glad we have tried it cause we have wanted to try it for long...next time a different spot...and yes, i got my shoes...and the ice-cream was average but Sofia enjoyed it and she loved her balloon.....Cortono is a beautiful old town...and i would recommend it to anyone that has not visited it...or even if you have gone there...to go again....i do not know much about the history and kim and i would like to explore a little bit more...so once we have...i will share with you...for now...good night...we chat soon....
