Sofia's baptism

Sofia's baptism was a truely special occasion....We decided to celebrate Sofia's baptism in Finland in the church where Kim's family are members....we thought that would be special....the priest would be the daughter of a very good friend of Kim's, so ot really made it very meaningful. Sunday the 13th September marked the special occasion....there was a lot of build up and everyone was very excited.

The actual baptism ceremony was at 14:15 in the big church in Borgo. Rebecca met with us a couple of days before a discussed the arrangements of which hymns would be sung and which parts would be done in Swedish and which in English. The actual baptism was truely special, Rebecca did an amazing job and we received compliments from everyone, what a beautiful ceremony it was. We even received a lottle booklet with all the songs and hymns as well as a seperate booklet which states the Godparents, parents, date of the baptism as well as the the priest's name.

The dress that Sofia wore was in fact the dress that Kim wore when he was baptised, Kim's grandmother made it for me....how special is that...and now his daughter got to wear it....i think it is time that i shared some pics with you....

After the baptism there was a small late lunch served near the church, we decided on a self catering venue right on the river, Kim's dad told me that those houses used to be salt houses in the 15 hundreds, they used to bring salt from Germany. It was a beautiful venue and everyone raved about the food...it was so damn good....from gravalax (salmon) to smoked salmon, to salad, potatoes, herring and roast beef....truely delicious...let me share a pic of the buffet...

Of course we had also organised some wine, in fact we had brought a 3L Montepulciano wine with us from Italy...have a look.....

Next to it is a wine which we found in Randolfzell which we of course had to buy...why...check out the name...Santa Sofia.....yes, it is not the correct year 2014, but we will go back and we will get the 2015 wine....and yes....both wines were amazing....

And not to forget...this celebration would not have been complete without a cake for our little princess....a pink cake (marzipan covered...for Kim) with a vanilla sponge inside and rasperry mousse...yummie...and it all got ravished...i even had two pieces cause it was very yummie...Kim and I cut the cake together...almost like on our wedding...hahaha....and of course we have some pics....
