So...as you all know I always write my opinion about cappuccinos in the various places, now we are in Finland and hence it is time for me to share the Finland cappuccino experience with you....
While we are here we are staying with Kim's parents in Borgo....so of course we have been trying some coffee places here....now we have a pram with us, so we needed some places that we could easily enter with a pram...yes, the option is to leave the pram outside but if Sofia is sleeping it is nicer if we can bring the pram inside....so let me share some experiences....cafe Rongo...it is in the newer area of town....we entered and the first time we went there Kim and I thought we wanted to try something savoury, so we had a spinach and feta quiche which comes with a small salad...of course we also ordered cappuccino....and yes...the size was perfect, the thickness of the foam was great, strength of the coffee also great...just one little opinion....would have been nice with a little bit more foam...and with a small choc...hahaha....the quiche was also great, so yes, Kim and I were very happy with our experience and Rongo....let me share a pic with you....

So...because we were impressed we actually decided to go back there the next day...this time...there was a fresh carrot cake, so guess what...we needed to try a piece of carrot cake....and of course cappuccino...cappuccino was consistently good....and carrot cake was also yummie, icing not too much, there was a little bit of almost christmas spices in the carrot cake, so i liked it...only thing...could have had some nuts in it and raisins...the Woolies carrot cake and the cafe roastery is still winning....let me share a pic with you though....

Now you might be thinking, why do they keep going to the same place....well, as you might remember, the last time Kim and I were here in Borgo we tried Cafe Gabriele at which the quiche is very nice, the cappuccino shocking though and we also tried it at Paahtimo, where the cappuccino is also not good...ciders and bubblies and atmosphere is great just not cappuccino, and hence Cafe Rongo we have visited twice.....but we have also tried another place calle Coffeehouse....its on the other side of the river, by the Kunstfabrik...Again, i was very happy with the cappuccino, the foam was thick, the size was good, coffee not too strong but still good, the amount of foam could definitely have been better and excellent was the fact that you got a little piece of black chocolate with it...delicious...and of course I have a pic....
Coffeehouse
Another place we tried....Cafe Helmi...this we tried without Kim though cause he had to leave early to fly to Venice because of work, so mom, dad, Fabienne, Siena, Sofia and me went there....the reason we went there was because dad wanted cake and the selection wAs huge....carrot cake, cheese cake and apple, hazelnut crumble cakes were chosen.....the cakes were delicious...the carrot cake could have had some more nuts in it, the icing was very good though, not too sweet and it was moist...the apple crumble was very good and Mutti enjoyed her cheesecake, although no one else got to try..i guess it means it was good...hahaha....cappuccino...disappointing...the coffee was strong and good, the foam non existent, it basically went away straight as the cappuccino was placed on the table, so go there for cake and normal coffee....hahaha...

From this blog it seems like we have been trying cappuccino only in Borgo...but we did go to Helsinki one day, thus we also managed to try some cappuccino there....two places in fact we managed to try...first up was the before lunch cappuccino at Fazer...that was ok....The foam was thick, the coffee cup too big though which made the coffee a little too milky and also the foam was too little....but what i of course loved was the fact that we got a 70% dark choc Fazer with it....divine....So yes, i would go back there....Sandro also chose some typical Swedish pastries...bulla...they were very nice...but very sweet...the one was filled with jam, so almost like a Berliner....actually like a Berliner....let me share a pic....

Last cappuccino experience in Finland....cafe Strindberg....The cappuccino size was great, the strength was great, the choc was missing and the foam thickness could have been a bit more, but definitely not bad at all...and the bulla was great...had cinnamon in it...so it reminded me of Christmas....the buffet for lunch salads looked absoloutely amazing...so next time I definitely wanna go there...salmon, shrimps, roasted mushrooms...it just looked so bloody delicious...we had already eaten at the market place though and hence we did not eat savoury....about what we ate though Ill tell you another time....below see a pic....
