Last Cozumel for a while

So....we have been onboard almost 5 weeks now....and man, time just flew by. We have been loving it. Cozumel definitely has been our favourite port. As you know we went to Margaritaville quite a few times because the Margaritas are DEFINITELY the best. So this blog is dedicated to some memories from Cozumel which i have not shared yet....first up....a sign at Margaritaville next to the stage.....
Margaritaville sign
Next...well i have been telling you about Ceviche...i wrote about the octopus ceviche with avocado in Cozumel on Kim's birthday (last year), i wrote about the fish ceviche with crispy plantaition in Belize with myself...and again with Nonna and Mutti. I also wrote about the conch ceviche with yuka at Captain Jack's in Roatan......now....a new thing....we ate out in Cozumel at a place called Los Dorados de Villa. We ordered one Margarita and one beer....but somehow it was 2 for 1 cocktails ...so we reveived 2 Margaritas. They were ok...not too great, definitely CANNOT compare to Margaritaville. What i liked was that we got three salsas and nacho chips after we ordered drinks....rather nice...let me share a pic....
Margaritas at Los Dorados de Villa
We tried various foodies including a guacamole.....always so good....so fresh, a seafood ceviche (octopus, shrimp and conch) and an enchilada c/mole....we did not know what c/mole meant...but there were 30 enchiladas to chose from, so we decided to try the top pollo (chicken) one. Let me share some pics...

You are probably looking at the last pic and wondering what is that black sauce....well guess what...you are not alone....that is exactly what kim and i were wondering....google did not work...so we just had to try....it had like a sweetish taste...we almost thought maybe black beans mixed with some chocolate...well...back on the ship we googled....and here is what it is: mole is a typical sauce used in Mexican cuisine. The mole poblano sauce is the most typical and it has been called a national dish in Mexico. In fact it has been described as an ancient dish. It consists of about 20 ingredients, including chili peppers and chocolate, which works to counteract the heat of the chili peppers, but the chocolate does not dominate. It helps give the sauce a dark colour, but this is also provided by the mulato peppers...here are some of the ingredients....
One recipe i found
So yes...we were correct with the chocolate taste...we did not even know it was traditional...otherwise, you know me....i definitely would have tried it...all traditional/ typical things i love to try...ceviche, Margarita...enchiladas....and now even the mole sauce. So i am actually quite proud of us....in fact, as you know, we have tried many different ceviches and Margaritas.
There was also another place we tried for ceviche and margarita....in fact it was next to Margaritaville called Jeanie.....let me share some pics of the guacamole and the ceviche we had...
Guacamole with nachos
Seafood ceviche (shrimps, fish and octopus)
As you can see from the pic....both the guacamole and the ceviche looked amazing...and they tasted amazing too...just so fresh....have not been disappointed of one guacamole or one ceviche yet...which is a very good thing.....the Margaritas on the other hand...we were disappointed, too watery again...and again...just cannot compare to Margaritaville....so guess what....we ended up going to Margaritaville afterwards for a REAL Maragarita....and have a look at this....
Kim and Sofia enjoying frozen, original Margarita
So yes....as you can see....for a Margarita...Margaritaville is definitely the place to go...and for guacamole....i guess we enjoyed them at all places...but I also loved Margaritaville cause they come and prepare it right infront of you and you get to say how you want it...not too much cilantro, a lot of chili etc etc....when we talk about ceviche....well they do not serve it at Margaritaville...so that needs to be tried in another place. Now we are off to go tanning on the sundeck and Sofia is ready to splash in the water, so for now...cheers.
