Koi at Design Quater
So.....we have tried Sandton Koi and we have tried Rosebank Koi....now the verdict on the new Koi in Design Quater....I purposfully made a booking in the morning of Sunday for 2pm on Sunday....why did i make the booking because we have a pram and because we wanted to sit outside....they confirmed they would give me an outside table which had space for a pram.....when we got there, they started to walk inside, i of course inquired what was going on and they stated that something went wrong and they would seat us inside until there was a table available, what could we do.....once we were seated inside we thought it was not worth our while to move again.....so we stayed inside....
Menu came and dad wanted dim sums to share....so we ordered the prawn and shitake dim sums and the mixed platter which contained spinach and feta dumplings, beef potstickers and chicken and ginger dumplings...of course they come with two sauces a chili type sauce and a plum type sauce....divine....let me share a pic.....
Dim sum
We of course also wanted some bubbly...and why not try something different.....
Our bubbly
After our delicious starters it was time to order some mains....dad normally has the noodles but he surprised everyone by ordering the fillet topped with shitaki mushrooms, side of bok choi and potatoes.....he absoloutely loved it....Mutti, mom and I went for the sharing option...we went for new style sashimi (fusion), that one i always order cause it is so damn yummie, then we ordered the shrimp tempura roll, also very very nice and lastly the salmon sashimi salad with seaweed and avo and greens....great...Kim would have loved this place, definitely wanna take him to Koi. The food at Koi is just so good, really nice, as mentioned before not a cheap place, but also not over the top, and so well worth it...yummie, just writing about it now my mouth is starting to water again....let me share some pics with you...
