Silverlake

So....in Pattaya there is also the Golden Buddah aka Buddah Mountain

Buddha Mountain, Wat Yansangwararam

Khao Cheejan (Buddha Mountain) and the Wat Yansangwararam temple complex (Wat Yan) are located around 15 kilometres south of Pattaya off Sukhumvit Road. The "Wat Yan" temple complex is under the patronage of His Majesty the King and features a variety of architectural styles.

The impressive Khao Cheejan Buddha mountain is located just a few kilometres southeast of the temple complex and displays a laser-carved and gold-plated monumental Buddha image. About 130 metres tall and up to 70 metres wide, it is rated as one of the biggest Buddha images in the world. An outstanding landmark in Pattaya's countryside, it is visible over a long distance.

Even if Buddha images and temples aren't of special interest to you, the beautiful hilly landscape and peaceful atmosphere make the Khao Cheejan area a perfect destination for an afternoon trip, particularly a motorcycle ride around Pattaya's countryside.

So Kim and i did a trip out there and i must say it was incredible...the sheer size of it....was beautiful...here is a pic....

Buddah Mountain

After visiting the buddah mountain we went to Silverlake...just about a 5min drive...and can you believe, they produce their own wine there...so there are a few shops and they all sell things made from grapes, fresh grapes, puff pastry filled with grapes, cookies filled with grapes, grape slush, grape jam etc.....we bought a grape slush and a puff pastry stuffed with grape...tasted home-made and was good...all the shops were laid out in a Tuscan style, very cute....

Grape slush and puff pasty cookie

Then off for some lunch...again...a cute little Tuscan house serving Silverlake wine....we ordered a 1/2l crate....holy crap...1000 Baht (like R350)....the wine was ok...nothing special, but i must admit im glad i tired it...i mean i have never heard of a Thai wine...so definitely was an experience...and yes....lunch was good...salmon carpaccio for me and a chicken ceasar salad for kim....presentation was immaculate....all in all what a nice early morning/ lunch out...well worth it...some pics...

On the way back to Pattaya we stopped at this place called MiMosa (city of love), it is a community lifestyle mall, very intersting architecture and i guess that is what made kim and me stop

Mimosa

There is a 50 Baht entrance fee....then we walked around a little and found a really cute coffee place (Montrio Love), cappuccino was fab....thickish foam, hot, strong coffee....not too much milk...and guess what i could sprinkle almonds on top of the foam...oh my word...so exciting...here is a pic

Kim also ordered a macchiato after the cappuccino and man...it was excellento...strong espresso...and sooooo much foam....so cool....it was served in the same size cup as the cappuccino but there was no milk...it was fab....what a nice little spot we discovered.....loved it......yes....5/5

Before i end this blog...i have to tell you about these "nuts" kim made me taste...dont ask me what they are...but i can tell you that they are hell of a nice...taste somehow roasted and they are crunchy...so good...here a pic...if you know what they are called...let me know...and a bag is not expensive 12 baht (R4)....
