SecrEATS

Anticipation rising...curiosity increasing.....where will the dinner take place.....what will we eat, who is cooking it...how many people are invited.....no answers....

Finally Saturday morning has arrived....and i received an email with a little bit of information....the dinner will be held at Arts on Main....and we have to arrvive between 18:30 and 19:00.... And dinner will be at 19:30....and there is a secret sentence which we will have to mention at the entrance "we came, we saw, we parked and now we are ready for EATS".....the first quesion for me was....what to wear..?...semi-smart....but i knew it probably will not be too warm.....so this is what i decided on....

Ready for EATS

Craig, Liezl and I arrived and thank you Liezl for remembering the sentence.....we were shown to the top floor where we got served various cocktails....the secret ingredient was Bombay Saphire....the one cocktail was pinkish and had rosmary twigs in it....interesting.....

What a cool cocktail glass

At promptly 19:30 we were asked to go downstairs where we found a wonderful setting...blue and white striped tablecloths, plastic crates with cushions (to sit)....and perfect table layout....and yes...the menu....i looked at it straight away and found out that Nicky, chef from Westcliff, would be cooking for us....how exciting....45 people in total

Table setting

Menu....oh my...i cannot wait

So...starters was sashimi type salmon presented amazingly....on top were micro greens and these balls that looked like caviar but were made with cocont something....really fab...What i loved, they brought the Riesling wine before starters were served and they kept it flowing throughout.....fab....

Starter

Then the wine got changed....Allee Bleu SHIRAZ....and i was so upset cause im not a Shiraz girl...but guess what...what an amazing wine....loved it....the mains was ostrich with a blueberry/ pinotage reduction served with mash potatoes...the mash was amazing...So buttery/ creamy...the ostrich for me was overcooked and the jus too much reduced...the ostrich tasted slightly gamey....

Mains

Dessert sounded promising...white choc and wasabi mousse served with a dessert wine....oh my....the mousse was divine....i loved it..wow....so good....

Wow dessert

We had such a fab evening and loved it...would i do it again....most defintely....here some last pics....
