Week in SA

So....my last week in SA and then 2 days in Switzerland and 2 days in Rome and then it will be sign on time again.....what did i do in my last week...no...im not going to write a diarised version of events....but some highlights included....seeing some more friends....to cooking to photo session......

From coffee at Vida e Caffee.....and yes...they just have fabulous coffee....strong and thick foam...and love the fact that you get a small black lindt choc with it....excellento.....and coffee at Woolies....again excellento.....

To drinks at Rhapsody....new pace that opened...well it opened quite a while back but i have not been there....nice atmosphere...and the food actually also looked excellento...they even have sushi...so i think next time...drinks AND dinner....

To breakfast at Tashas....and you will be proud of me...i went for something i have not had there....didnt have the Dr Paw-Paw...didnt have the royal breakfast or the very berry.....i actually had the scrambbled eggs with smoked salmon...nice....very big portion..def able to share.....unless you are one hell of a hungry....also for the gym freaks or super health conscious eaters...apparently you can have the scrambbled eggs with egg whites only....i dont think so...but some of you might be interested to know.....

Of course...played some golf, and did some more home cooking...from braai to braai to more braai.....well...at least the protein changed....ostrich...beef fillet....bratwurst.....and salmon......so happy....and salad....(i love salad with dressing...this time im going to take some balsamic and olive oil to the ship....then at least i can make a dressing...makes a difference...well at least in my opinion). I also made a plumb tarte once....yes...i do have pics for that....and let me give some instructions...for those not interested...skip next paragraph and just look at pics....hahaha....

First roll out the puff pastry and place on tray (yes, tray does should have a baking sheet), then crush some nuts (any mix...hazelnut...almonds...peacan nuts) and add a thin layer to the puff pastry.....cut the plumbs in half....take out stone...and place them with open side up on the tray....place them close to each other so there is no gaps....then make the "syrup" that goes over it (its not syrup...but cant think of the word).....in a bowl mix 2 whole eggs, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 tablespoon flour and 1 container cream (i think it is 125ml).....mix all together and pour over tarte....the tarte should be almost fully covered...then put into oven for about 45min on 180C......serve with some vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream....amazing...here are two pics.... (I quatered plumbs..but def would not do that again...they should only be halfed)

So....now to the photo session...something unusal....my friend is doing this course in photography and had a project....worms...so she asked me whether i would model...i would only have to put on red lipstick (but a hell of a lot) and then eat worms (SWEETS).....sounds like fun...so she came over and we had a photo session...that was fun....here are some pics....

Hmmmm...maybe i should get myself some red lipstick....hmmmm.....
Anyway....moving on...hahaha...was fun...and i enjoyed my last week in SA....flew past hell of a quickly...but oh well.....and then of course Switzerland for 2 days....visited my Mutti and caught up with her...got cappuchino and gruyere when i arrived...amazing...lunch was bratwurst and crispy bread and for dinner she cooked me a fab meal at home (Nuessli salat, scallops, white asaparagus- with gruyere and potatoes)..but the thing that i thought was so cool was how she served the sparkling wine....she has these hibiscus flowers in syrup....so she took one out (each) and placed in the the champagne flute....added white bubbly and then the flower opens up...so cool...and at the end....you can eat the hibiscus flower...man....that was so nice.....of course i attempted to take an artistic photo....here it is....

Sunday late afternoon...off to Rome...so next blog....Rome...cheerio.....
