Israel x2

So....next two ports were both in Israel.....haifa....next day ashdod....lets start with haifa.....

Kim managed to get some time off....so we decided to go out for some lunch near the Baha'i Hanging Gardens......wow....on the way there....i was quite shocked...buildings were run down, dirty and just not looked after...quite sad cause some of the architecture actually looked good.....then we found the famous street from where you can see the garden and found a lunch spot...kim's choice...would not have been mine...but i have to admit....lunch was amazing....so im glad i buckled......we had hummus with beef strips and pita bread and a haloumi salad....man haloumi salad...wow...they were not shy with dishing out haloumi...and with it caramalized peacan nuts and roasted tomatos...and lets not go to the dssing of the salad...some sweet chilli dessing...amazing....here are some pics...the garden and the food.....Oh yes....let me not just talk about food...the garden was perfectly manicured...really quite a sight.....

After lunch....i wanted to go up with the little subway train to see the view over haifa....up towards the carmel mountains....so we found the subway...which is an exaggeration of the word....it is one train going uphill, underground, and it has 4 stops....and it takes 7min to get up....anyway....up there...much better area...but still nothing wowey....but the view from up there was great...here are 2 pics...

After that...coffee time..foam...not up to my std...but i survived....hahaha....then guess what i spotted...chocolate shop...and oh my word...chocolate from all countries...of course swiss and belgium... but even finnish.....who would have thought....and sour sweets....and and and...wait almost forgot...marzipan....yay...so yes...def i liked that shop...after that back to the little train...missed it...so back to the chocolate shop....and as we got back to little train we missed it AGAIN....so this time we stayed and waited at the station....thrid time lucky....hahaha.....then at 6 pm it was time for work....but only 3 hours cause morning was a long one.....and tomorrow....again..nice schedule...will be able to get out in Ashdod....yay.....

Today.....Ashdod...and as mentioned....plan is to get out....ive heard so much about tel aviv....so three of us decided to go there.....we took the shuttle bus to the end of the port and then we were bombarded with taxi drivers....thEy started off by saying...tel aviv $100.... Thank god we checked prices on internet and knew it should be about $50... So we started to negotiate...or should i say...i did...the 2 guys, denny and david who i was with, decided to just back off....hmmmmm....it was quite an experience..there were 2 drivers they looked like they were gonna punch each other...and no....im NOT exaggerating....they both didnt wanna go below $80.... Wot a joke...then a cab diver from inside his cab called us and said he would take us for $50... We jumped in quickly....you should have seen the faces of the other 2... Highly pissed off....shit...Anyway...we made it to tel aviv...hmmmm....not what i expected....everyone always hypes about it....not sure why...beach looked amazing..And there is restaurants along the promenade...and yes...maybe night life could be good....but during the day...hmmmm...i have def seen better beach areas....i mean camps bay is more amazing...the tel aviv city itself...not nice...also like Haifa...run down...buildings falling apart....def nOt a place to go back to...glad i saw it..but no thank you....Here is a pic

we had some lunch...and just walked around...ended the trip by buying ice cream, yes, pistaccio..another pic..and that was fab ice cream...yummy....

And then taking a cab back....again...that was entertainment....we had a driver he was in such a good mood...he managed to get us back in 25 min...we asked him to rush a little cause we were cutting it short...and man..he drove...and yes...sometimes i wanted to close my eyes....thought we would def hit another car...another experience of note....at one stage he wanted me to take a pic of him....so he turned 180degrees and looked at me on the backseat for like 5s instead of the highway....oh lord.....anyway....we made it back in good time....and later work again...dont remember much of it...which means it went quickly and probably quite smoothly....evening plans.....watch a movie....girl with the dragon tattoo.....goodnite from me.....So....just a quick ending note....hope i get to have off once to go to dead sea....cause man..that is def what i wanna do.....
