Alanya and Limassol

Wow....2 new ports in 2 days....love it....even though it wasnt the most amazing ports....who cares....im getting to see new places....spend time with amazing people...what more could i want....hmmmmm....

So where to start.....banu, a friend who grew up in germany but is actually turkish....her mom lives in alanya wanted to take us for lunch....so since i signed off and we knew we would see each other again....i had to have time off over lunch...cause that was whEre she wanted to choose where to go....but first...a pic from the port with the well known red tower...hmmmmm...not sure why...ill read up...and will let u know another time...after all...not last time im here...here is a pic

From there banu fetched us, kim & me, with her mom....first she showed us the non touristy area of alanya....lets put it this way...she wanted to take us to a restaurant where u eat on the river...and yes...actually on....but somehow banu...hmmmm....forgot that it is out of season and it is closed....hahaha....so then we went back to town....main area....where we wanted some typical turkish food......from pita bread to lachmacun pizza......here is a pic of banu and me and some of the food......

And then banu ordered dessert....was like a honey, sugar thingy with cheese in the middle and some pistaccio....man it was absoloutely amazing...very sweet....like baklava....but amazing...wow....but then again....cheese and pistaccio....hmmmmm....great stuff...now i need to find out name so that i can order again.....

Next day.....limassol....on my own.....but i dont mind....sometimes.......so everyone said....dont bother going out...its so shit...katakolon is like new york compared to limassol...but we all know me..if i have time...i will go out and form my own opinion....and guess what....i was so surprised....i really enjoyed it...it was small.....nice souvenir shops...nice restaurants.....here are some pics of buildings...We all know how much i like to see settings...architecture....so Here is one of a building and one from some kind of church.....

After walking around....i discovered this amazing nuts and dried fruit shop......i wont miss a shop that looks as amazing as this one.....wow...and the dried fruit....wow...and nuts....wow.....i was allowed to try all i wanted...ended up buying a shit load....mixed dried fruit (cherry, pineapple, mango and figs), salted macademia and caramalized honey almonds....wow....problem...couldnt stop myself eating...so in the end i felt sick....when i took them back to the ship they were locked into the safe....sadly i dont have The combination...damn....hmmmmm......here a pic Of the store....

and not to forget....of course had a coffee....macchiato though....wanted something strong....excellento....very strong...so perfecto...and yes....also bought my souvenir mug....which is something i have started to collect whatever country or better city that i am in....will have a shelf one day in my house.....displaying them.....hahaha.....ok.....so now im off....israel and egypt coming up.....unfortunately no long tours for me...schedule doesnt allow it...this time....cheers

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
