Harvest Caye

Two more Harvest Caye...one just the three of us and the last one my parents were onboard, so of course they joined us. The first one with just the three of us we actually managed to explore some areas which we had NOT been to before.

First though we went to the beach where of course Sofia loved playing in the sand and running and swimming in the sea....it is not easy to get her out, we promised to take her to see the butterflies and she somehow thought that might be an okay deal. Off we went to buy a margarita at our favourite spot and then we went to see the parrots, the butterflies, the lizards and the snakes. They have a small area where you can go inside with the butterflies and view the other animals, very cute for the little kids. Sofia enjoyed seeing the insects and birds.

After that we actually went to the pool area, we had seen it before but we never went inside the pool...this time we thought we would explore a little bit. Sofia loved the pool....she could waddle around...then of course it was time to pick her up and go into the deeper side, it was a lot of fun and yes, we all enjoyed it....let me share some pics....

I just love this place and its great when you get to spend the whole day there....this was an exception for the Christmas and New Year cruise......normally it is only from 7am until 1pm due to the far distance to return to Tampa in time....anyway...when my parents were onboard we went out early....so at 8am....we were on our way. It was quite overcast so it was a little bit chilli, even Sofia was not too keen to go into the water...but by 8:30am all was good...Sofia running in the sea, playing with the kayaks and of course the sand...loving it. I also took the ball with us...so she was kicking that around the beach and the water...let me share some pics...

After a while, dad and Kim decided they would go and enjoy a beer and a cigar whilst mom, Sofia and I enjoyed the beach some more. Around 10am we thought....why not enjoy a margarita and some "lunch" with the men....we ordered some nachos and fried chicken strips with chips....as always we went to our usual spot and this time I checked the name...."Laughing Bird". The food was delicious and so was the frozen margarita....let me share a pic......

Yummie foodies at the Laughing Bird

After that...some time at the kiddies acqua park and then some pool time, we also saw two of the bridge girls, Joyce and Luby (who in fact came out especially to spend some water time with Sofia). We spent the rest of the morning in the pool...and Sofia just loved it, when it was time to leave she had tears because she definitely did not want to leave. Back on the ship, she slept within five minutes...busy day.....what a water rat.

It is a beautiful place, and as mentioned before there is definitely something for everyone. In the evening the four of us (Sofia sleeping) had dinner at Moderno, the Brazilian restaurant....yummie starter buffet and delicious meat for mains....my favourite is still the picanha....so damn good...and of course not to forget the caramelised pineapple. Tummy full and satisfied, I think it is time to say goodnight and we chat soon.
