Where to start

I dont know where to begin....maybe an apology...maybe you have forgotten about me, but it was a friend who reminded me...she asked me what happened to my blog....and that i should start writing again...and you know i thought about it...for exactly 5s and realised she had a point...i need to start writing again...to share my experiences, my venture with someone...so this friend of mine, it was her birthday...she had a very clever idea....she turned 40 and decided to have a birthday for each of her centuries.....

10 years old: jumping castles, fun slides and cupcakes
20 years old: the doors nigthclub
30 years old: sophisticated cocktail party
40 years old: a chilled out lounge party at the Living Room in Maboneng......

First off Kim and I had to figure out where Maboneng is, cause it is not an area in jhb that you can enter into the GPS, so we thank god had some google and decided to put it into google before driving off......so off we ventured on Sunday early afternoon to this area in the middle of JHB town....and guess what....what a cool area when we arrived so vibey, full of hip people, happy people, dancing, music playing, it was just great....we struggled to find a parking and then squeezed into a small opening....next stop...trying to find this "living Room"...when we searched on google we figured out that it must be quite high up cause it seemed to have a view...so I guess a rooftop is what we were looking for....in the end we decided to ask someone who was kind enough to take us to the living room....."just go up to the fifth floor" is what we were told.....as we entered...i just felt amazed...it was a covered rooftop, all open on the sides, full of plants, music playing and a lot of interesting people....we found my friend, who had reserved a table and started having some drinks....let me share some pics of the venue

Off course we were also snacking, my friend warned that the food was not overly amazing but it did the job....the snack platters looked quite nice, so why not all share the Meze platter (Falafel, halloumi, pickled veg, feta and pepperdews) and the meaty platter (chorizo, parma ham &melon, biltong, mini schwarmas, teriyaki chicken strips and hummous)...and you know what...it was surprisingly nice....nice to share and something to nibble on....unfortunately kim and i left around 5 cause i needed to pack cause mom and i are off to Hong Kong tomorrow to visit my sister and new baby. we decided though that this was definitely not the last time that we visited this area and we definitely would be back....it was just so nice...

so for now cheers....and i will be less scarce going forward.....
