Istanbul overnight

So....another Istanbul overnight...and guess what this time...first time...my schedule would allow me to go for dinner...oh my word...couldnt believe it...so of course....dinner out was a given.....

In the afternoon we took a stroll not far from the ship and found this amazing coffee shop....so cool...Julius Meinl brand coffee....which if you dont know...is amazing....here is a logo...

The coffee shop looked like a hippie hang out place....loved the look...sunny day...why not a nice cappuccino outside...coffee was fab...thick foam...strong...what else could i want....good company and sunshine...also get ticks....here a pic of the coffee as well as the coffee shop....

As planned....evening....we went up to Taksim square and walked around the buzzing main road for a little bit...so nice and vibey....then of course time for foodies.....of course the restaurant needs to be a little off the main path...so we found this little place in the market street somewhere...and Turkish restaurants are not fancy and this one was no exception....we ordered a large mixed platter (traditional favourites) and a plate of grilled anchovies.....the food was good...the anchovies def the highlight...mixed platter was nice...but for me...Turkish food...stick to Lahmachun pizza and anchovies (for those that eat lamb....yes the beef kebabs are good...take note: even the beef kebabs are made with lamb fat...the chicken kebabs are not...so stick to chicken dishes if you dont eat lamb)....and their salads are nice cause they pour over this pommegranate syrup....amazing....so yes...there are a few nice things...but im starting to get tired of them.....here is a pic of the mixed platter.....different dips, octopus salad, shrimps, beans, stuffed vineleave and yes, plenty bread.....

Then i have to tell you a funny thing...we have been trying all the different magnums as you might know...yes, we all know the white one, the classic, the chocolate and the almond....now we have discovered pistaccio and sandwich....but here we discovered another one before dinner...and of course we tried (yes, before dinner).....espresso (nice, but wouldnt buy again if there is other ones), and if that was not enough...after dinner we saw another new one and couldnt help ourselves...well kim couldnt help himself.....extra dark choc (i liked it...but still like pistaccio and sandwich better)....and there is another two new ones we spotted....some pink one and some berry (i think)....hmmmm...cant wait to try....

Next day...a trip a little bit further...kim asked the port agent for a car and we went to the Harley shop....attempting to find an Istanbul t-shirt and look at some accessories.....well accessories we didnt find....Istanbul t-shirt we didnt find....but we found a normal short sleeved shirt...well at least partially successful....and then a metro ride to Taksim square...some kebab from a fast food chain called Bambi (chicken and cheese kebab)

and then of course coffee and ice cream...at our local spot the chocolate place....but this time...was slightly disappointed....the service was sooooooo slow AND they got the ice cream order wrong.....what the....i think on our last trip to Israel..not gonna go back there..rather the Julius Meinl coffee shop...much better....here a pic of the ice cream though......

And here is one last pic of the evening....leaving Istanbul......in the backgorund Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque and the Red Mosque....stunning pic....i have to admit (and im allowed to say cause i didnt take it)
