Up to and incl. Athens

So....Civi...time for the family to leave...had a brunch with them at Cagney's...first time for me the entire cruise...why....cause i was nightshift and that was def the time to sleep....after brunch time to say good-byes and off they went....and off to work i went..hard day...embarkation....BUT last embarkation for a while...last cruise for a while.....that night...first time i slept in my actual bed that i was assigned to...slept quite good.......

Sea day, Katakolon and Izmir....hmmmmm....not very interesting....but i guess i do need to mention some of the highlights......and yes...of course there were highlights.....from sea day....lunch time....3 of us decided to go to the Sushi and Noodle bar for lunch....i had the rock n roll role....with smoked eel, yellowtail and avocado...so damn good...i love smoked eel....and at night 3 of us had some red wine in the cabin...enjoying some Merlot and gossip time...so casual and relaxed...exactly what i wanted and needed....pic....yes...me in my casual Harley top.....

katakolon....drill took some time and then our meeting took time...so ended up going out just for some cappuccino...and it was worth it....very stong Illy coffee and thick foam...divine....managed to just chill a little in the sun and do some chats on tango.....successful i would say....and energized for the 2nd shift.....next day Izmir.....well.....i was supposed to take a stroll and lazily find a coffee shop....ended up almost at the coffee place when i realized i dont have a wallet....and back to the ship it was....what a waste of time...but i saw the positive side....more fresh air...inside a coffee shop would not have been fresh air....hahaha.....so..Izmir..like Katakolon....some cappuccino and fresh air and chilling...no internet....and then not to forget....nuts, nuts and more nuts...plan was to take them home...hmmmm...dream on...me and nuts no way.....damn....well one positive thing...less weight to take home...hahaha......and in the evening...4 of us planned to go to Le Bistro and have some wine and a really relaxed evening....and you know what...we really had such a good evening...and be proud of me, i had a different starter...but i did feel like salmon for mains and yes cheese for dinner....so what did i have for starters....i had asparagus with porccini mushrooms, crispy, flaked onions and orange hollondaise....wow...really good....some pics....first pic is me and Iris....then yes...my asparagus...and then a pic of the 4 of us...enjoying an evening with good food, good wine and good company....

Next day....Athens.....my day off...clever Iris....she gave her and me off the same day...how amazing...we would spend the day in Athens...chilling, shopping, coffee...lunch.....just a girls day.....as we left around 10 we bumped into 2 work collegues who wanted to join...we said..one condition they just tag along...cause we dont wanna be bossed around...no problemo....so yes....the day was spent trying out the local coffee take aways....called Everest.....good....not excellent...but good....shopping....i ended up buying a nice cocktail (short black) dress...Iris bought a blue winter jacket...successful i would say...and of course many photos...and yes....lunch.....wot a cool day.....here are some pics from our day out....

Then back with the metro...so handy this metro.....just there by the main street and once back in Piraeus its a 20min walk back to the ship....wot a nice day off...no rush...no stress....just relaxing and nice.....so far it has been a good last cruise...lets hope it continues like this....tomorrow Istanbul overnite...app. snow is forecast....hmmmmm....for now....Athens...amazing...and you know what the best was...that the weather also played along......sunny and quite warm.....

Oh my word....my sister, who wanted to be a nun (inspired by the movie Sister Act), is getting married....and to a guy that suites her perfectly.....we started getting reAdy around lunch time...make up artist, Victor Ortega, was flown in from Manila. He did my sister's, my mom's and my makeup....but now a few steps back...this wedding pre- celebration started on Wednesday night with a Swiss family dinner, Thursday night a pub crawl and Friday night a close family (Aboitiz and Bucher) at a Spanish tapas place (where the food was amazing...first time i tried nero paella)....but to the pub crawl we get later..... Another cruise in Western Caribbean

This is the second week....we started the journey in Tampa and this Tampa we decided to take Sofia to the aquarium...I was quite interested to see whether she would be fascinated with the fishes or not....and she was....certain ones...certain ones not too much....but she definitely enjoyed going there. The aquarium had 8 sections: Wetlands Trail, Journey to Madagascar, Bays & Beaches, No Bone Zone, Coral Reefs, Dragons Down Under, Ocean Commotion and Splash Pad. We visited all except for the Splash Pad (that is outside for the kids to play and it was closed at the moment). It was nice also because there were areas where you could touch the sting rays...I enjoyed that, Sofia did not want to touch them, and nor did Kim. First few days in our new home- Dallas TX

So we have arrived in Texas....yay for us....and we have been doing quite a lot...so yes, we have been keeping busy. We arrived on Friday 23rd June in the afternoon at 2pm....after doing immigration, we went to the hotel, dropped off the luggage, literally, and went to fetch our new car....a white Jeep Cherokee....it is so nice....we are soooo excited to have it...beautiful...have a look.... Sofia in the Jeep Kim and the Jeep Cherokee Friday night we had some Sushi take-aways because Sofia was jet lagged, and so were we, so we did not make it to a restaurant with her.  Saturday there was also quite a few admin things to get done...but it was a rainy day....it rained almost the whole day...so we got a bit wet, but it is warm rain......so never mind.
